“Capable of flying into the heaven to embrace the moon, capable of diving into the five oceans to catch shelled turtles”. It is the dream of many young people to dive into the deep ocean to explore the mysteries of the sea. In the eve of Youth Day, on the evening of April 28th, the Hunan boy FU Wentao, delegate of the 18th conference of National People's Congress and “Manned Deep Diving Hero” winner, walked into the Hunan University of Commerce to tell teachers and students of his wonderful stories on realizing socialist core values and constantly create new career record of deep diving.

LIAO Lianghui, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League of Hunan Provincial Committee, praised FU Wentao’s outstanding feats and meritorious deeds. He has played the role of pioneer and navigator of practicing the socialist core values, and he is the model for university students to learn from.

“It is a rewarding job to become an underwater navigator”. After more than four years of sea trials, FU Wentao threw himself into work. From an ordinary university graduates to an underwater navigator driving the world’s most advanced manned submersible, FU Wentao just took only six years. FU Wentao encouraged students to cultivate the concepts of comprehensive view with his own personal experiences. Start from patriotism and dedication, and integrate the socialist core values into university life to create great causes.

As China’s first underwater navigator, FU Wentao has participated in all the sea trial tasks with 1, 000m, 3, 000m, 5,000m, and 7,000m in depth, and accumulated diving depth up to 37,106 meters. He successively created and broke many records, such as underwater main driving time, continuous operation time, diving depth, obtaining manganese nodule samples and biological samples, etc. He had twice putting the Five-Starred Red Flag into the deepest sea areas of China, creating remarkable feats for the cause of China’s manned deep diving. He has won “Manned Deep Diving Hero” granted by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and 16thChinese Youth May Fourth Medal, etc.

The event is the first lecture of spreading the socialist core values of Hunan Communist Youth League, aimed at promoting healthy growth and all-round development of young people. Hunan provincial committee of Communist Youth League will carry out extensive publicity, education and practices of socialist core values. Through integration of publicity and education, demonstration and guidance, and practices, the core values of socialism will take root in the minds and reflect in the behaviors of young people.
