Hunan Daily May 18th (Reporter: YU Rong, Correspondent: ZHANG Qin) On the night of 17th, Hunan University of Commerce displayed five pieces of valuable calligraphy and painting, namely, Clarifying Shames, Teaching Fighting, Calamitous Country Raises Enterprising Peopleby XU Beihong, Nationwide Revelry for Japanese Surrenders by ZHANG Daqian, Court Lady Sad for the Nation by LIN Fengmian,Two Alert Eagles by GAO Qifeng, and Unyielding Parrotsby YU Feian. At that night, Hunan University of Commerce held the Cultural and Creative Developing and Planning Competition for calligraphy and painting on Anti-Japanese War for “Commemorating Victory of Anti-Japanese War, Feeling Master Thoughts”.

These five pieces of artworks are collected by ZHOU Jianguo, president of Hunan Jinzhou Culture and Arts Co., Ltd. He said, these works, created by famous artists, reflected a common theme of anti-Japanese War and concentrated the history of Chinese People’s heroic resistance against invaders, carrying evidence of historical suffering and unyielding struggles of the Chinese nation. “Good works should not be locked in safes, but shared with more people. We should help young students remember history and spread positive energy of art.”
