[Rednet] Five pieces of calligraphy and painting on Resistance War against Japan by renowned artists made their debuts in Hunan

Recently, five pieces of valuable calligraphy and painting on Anti-Japanese War by renowned artists were exhibited in the third teaching building of Hunan University of Commerce: Two Alert Eagles by GAO Qifeng, Unyielding Parrots by YU Feian, Clarifying Shames, Teaching Fighting, Calamitous Country Raises Enterprising People by XU Beihong, Court Lady Sad for the Nation by LIN Fengmian, and Nationwide Revelry for Japanese Surrendering by ZHANG Daqian.
These five pieces of artworks are respectively against the background of such historical events as Mukden Incident, Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the Nanjing Massacre, Bombing of Chongqing and Surrender in Zhijiang. The calligraphy and painting demonstrate the historical process from invasion of China by Japanese fascists to fiasco and surrender, expressing Chinese People's heroic resistance.
Collector of these works, ZHOU Jianguo, president of Hunan Jinzhou Culture and Arts Co., Ltd., introduced that the debuts of these calligraphy and painting on Anti-Japanese Wars in Hunan is aimed at planting anti-Japanese culture in universities and promoting positive energy of art.
In 2014, Jinzhou Culture and Art Co., Ltd. collected 42 pieces of artworks from the majority of collectors, including art products by over 30 artists, such as, QI Baishi, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, LI Keran, FU Baoshi, HUANG Binhong, LIN Fengmian, GAO Qifeng, GAO Jianfu, PAN Tianshou, WU Changshuo, CHENG Shifa, ZHU Jizhan, GUO Moruo, HUANG Qiuyuan, QI Gong, ZHAO Puchu, HUANG Zhou, WU Guanzhong, etc. Twenty-two artworks are centered around Anti-Japanese Wars in these 42 pieces.
To promote these precious calligraphy and painting on Anti-Japanese War, Travel and Management College in Hunan University of Commerce and Hunan Jinzhou Culture and Arts Co., Ltd. held the Cultural and Creative Planning Competition for calligraphy and painting on Anti-Japanese War for “Commemorating Victory of Anti-Japanese War, Feeling Master Thoughts, Promoting School-Enterprise Cooperation, and Forging Exhibition Xiang Army”. In the competition scene, each participating team took turns to make roadshows brilliantly. Some combined the calligraphy and painting with clothing design, some developed the background stories into cartoon works. All these competition works fully manifested keen thinking and bright ideas of contemporary university students, and gave creative wings to Patriotism.
There were more than 300 students in Hunan University of Commerce participated in the preliminary round, and 10 teams came in the final.
