Xiangjiang Laboratory Debuts at 2022 World Computing Conference

The 2022 World Computing Conference themed "Calculating the World to Create a New Era" opened at Changsha Beichen International Convention Center on the morning of November 4. Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Wang Jiangping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Li Xiang, President of National University of Defense Technology, Chen Fei, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Zeng Yi, Chairman of China Electronics Corporation (CEC), Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Li Guojie, Li Jiancheng, Lu Xicheng, Chen Zuoning, Tian Hongqi, Pan Jianwei, Yu Qifeng, Gui Weihua, Yin Yulong, Zhang Pingwen, Zheng Jianlong, Chen Xiaohong, Chai Liyuan and Jiang Tao, Chen Zhongyue, General Manager of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd., Xu Zhijun, Rotating President of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Deng Qunce, Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, attended the meeting either in person or via video link.
Xiangjiang Laboratory, as an important strategic decision for Hunan to implement the strategic positioning and mission of “Three Highlands, Four New Missions” and strengthen the support of “Three Forces,” was specially introduced to the World Computing Conference. As an important part of the opening ceremony, Chen Xiaohong, Academician of the CAE, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Changsha Artificial Intelligence Social Laboratory, signed strategic cooperation agreements on behalf of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Changsha Artificial Intelligence Social Laboratory with 15 enterprises including Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., JD.com, Dawning Information Industry Co., Ltd., New H3C Technologies Co., Ltd., Inspur Group, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., TUNGHSU GROUP, Hunan Valin Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd., China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Talkweb Information, the 48th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and Hunan Kylinsec Technology Co., Ltd..
In addition, Mao Weiming, Governor of Hunan Province, highlighted Xiangjiang Laboratory in his speech. Lu Xicheng, CAE Academician and Director of the Academic Committee of Xiangjiang Laboratory, gave a keynote speech entitled Development Trend of High-Performance Computingat the opening forum.
Xiangjiang Laboratory has set up an independent and prominent exhibition area in the conference hall. Before the opening ceremony, Chen Xiaohong, Academician of the CAE, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Changsha Artificial Intelligence Social Laboratory, accompanied Wang Jiangping, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Chen Fei, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Zheng Jianxin, Mayor of Changsha City, Lei Shaoye, Director of the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province, and other leaders to inspect the Xiangjiang Laboratory exhibition hall. During the conference, journalists and participants came to visit the exhibition hall in an endless stream, which became a popular site.
The impressive performance of Xiangjiang Laboratory at the 2022 World Computing Conference shows the strong strength and development momentum of the laboratory.
