[Do Practical Things for Faculties and Students] HUTB Holds Unveiling Ceremony of Yayun Music Academy

Elegant rhyme accompanies literary atmosphere, and classical songs are passed on generation after generation. On the afternoon of July 7, HUTB held the unveiling ceremony of the Yayun Music Academy in the Lingnan Campus. The ceremony was attended by Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary, Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Party Secretary of HUTB, Liu Guoquan, Vice President of HUTB, Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, Li Dingjun, Chief Leader of HUTB, as well as the heads of relevant departments and schools and the teacher and student representatives. Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin presided over the ceremony.

Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary, addressed the ceremony. She said that because of its distinctive features and elegance, the Yayue Music Academy becomes HUTB’s new photo spot for social media. She wished all the teachers and students to receive art education in the academy, improve the aesthetic and humanistic quality, and enjoy themselves, gain knowledge, study and grow in the environment full of music appeal.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out that, adhering to the educational philosophy of the integrated development of “new engineering + new business +new liberal arts” and science, HUTB is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary, integrated, high-quality talents, focuses on the comprehensive development of students, advocates the common growth of teachers and students, and strives to foster excellent conditions and a first-class environment for all the teachers and students to study, work and live in. She emphasized that fostering a rich campus humanity and art atmosphere is an important embodiment of HUTB’s commitment to building a “Cultural HUTB” and “Artistic HUTB”, is of great importance to HUTB development, and contributes to the continued generation and mutual enhancement of the technological innovation power and the artistic creativity.
Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, the chief leaders inspected the construction and operation of the Yayun Music Academy, visited the construction personnel and students studying in the academy, experienced the high-end equipment in the academy, and spoke highly of the high-quality, high-efficiency and high-level construction results of the academy. Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary, also joined the faculties in singing the “Edelweiss”. Teachers from the School of Music performed beautiful and melodious songs such as “Ballet in Spring”, “Maira Variations” and “Cloud of Hometown”, adding a warm atmosphere to the ceremony.
The Yayun Music Academy is Hunan’s first theme music audiovisual space. Located beside the Postgraduate Apartments at Lingnan Campus, the Yayun Music Academy is divided into a first floor, a second floor and a mezzanine floor, and has a total area of 740 m2 with 136 reading seats. The academy houses such activity areas as service area, leisure reading area & performance area, piano performance area, stage area, music reading area, classic audio and video appreciation area and music creation area. It is equipped with more than 20 professional music devices under seven categories, including sound cube, digital music gramophone, cloud CD, music capsule and electronic music mural.
The Yayun Music Academy is specially designed to be a one-stop audiovisual experience center with collaborative learning environment, which is provided with functions of self-study and reading, concert performance and live broadcast, and interactive music experience, capable of meeting teachers and students’ demands such as leisure reading, audio and video appreciation, art appreciation, piano performance and self-help music creation. Combining the romantic modeling technique with the dramatic modeling language, the interior design enables the space to give full play to the appeal and educational role of music, and fosters an innovative and elegant music reading space environment. “Red scale” and “red ribbon” are two highlights of the design.
The Yayun Music Academy is not only a new photogenic spot for social media (the 11th) among HUTB’s academy complex, but also one of the most distinctive academies. It will become a new space for all the teachers and students to experience the music culture, study the music knowledge, and improve the aesthetic and humanistic quality, and lay a solid foundation for HUTB to further build an “Artistic HUTB”, enrich the connotation of campus culture, and foster a campus full of scholarly fragrance.
