[Lectures for Cadres] HUTB Holds the 4th Training Session of “Lectures for Cadres” & the 152nd-157th “Lushan Lecture”

On the afternoon of July 9, HUTB held the 4th Training Session of “Lectures for Cadres” & the 152nd - 157th “Lushan Lecture” in the lecture hall of the Economic Management Complex. 6 academician experts, including CAE Academician Zheng Jingchen, CAE Academician Chen Xiangsheng, CAS Academician Guo Liejin and CAE Academician Xiang Jinwu, provided special training to HUTB cadres and workers. Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Party Secretary of HUTB, Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, Yang Liangqi, Vice President of HUTB, He Longde, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of HUTB, and Chen Ming, a member of the Party Committee of HUTB, attended the training. All the cadres above the deputy section level, party branch secretaries, leaders of departments, heads of teaching and research sections, instructors and new teachers participated in the training. The training session was chaired by Xiao.
On behalf of the HUTB Party Committee, Xiao extended welcome to all the participating academicians, and expressed sincere thanks to them for their long-lasting care and support for the development of the HUTB causes. He pointed out that since the conclusion of the 1st CPC Representative Conference of HUTB, HUTB has organized three training sessions of “Lectures for Cadres”, and invited academician experts, government managers and famous entrepreneurs to provide special training, which effectively motivates the cadres’ learning interest and enthusiasm, strengthens the endogenetic power of practical work and entrepreneurship, comprehensively improves the theoretical literacy and working level of the cadres, further shores up their energy, and yields obvious results.
Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin stressed the need to further implement the working requirements “Establish Better Work Style, Change Study Style, Improve Quality and Seek Innovation”, strengthen the ideological cognition, internalize the contents of training in mid and externalize them in action, do a good job of integrating the study into thinking and application and of unifying the knowledge, attitude and practice, and support HUTB to realize leapfrog development.
Academician Zheng Jingchen presented a lecture under the theme of “New Era of Emergency Rescue — Smart Rescue”. Taking the historical review of rescue cases at all times and in all countries, the lecture introduced the research achievements of smart rescue in new era in strategic planning, information commanding, technological innovation and equipment research and development, vividly displayed the innovative integrated strength of smart rescue in the major disaster relief through cases, and offered a systematic outlook on the future development of smart rescue. He said that the history of human development is a history of human struggling against natural disasters; because of the urge for disaster prevention and control and the diversified disasters in China, scientific researches on smart rescue should be carried out based on the practical needs.
Under the theme of “Cornerstone of Urban Security — Cognition and Thinking on City-wide 3D Resilience”, Academician Chen Xiangsheng elaborated on the “3D resilience” of cities from four aspects, that is “Megacity (Cluster) in China and the World”, “Main Risks Facing the Megacity (Cluster)”, “Build Resilient Cities, Resilient Medical Systems and Resilient Hospitals” and “Technical Path Towards Resilient Megacity (Cluster)”. He said that the precondition for consolidating the security cornerstone is to conduct global resilient planning and design for cities, guarantee the human activities and behavior scenarios of all kinds are governed by regulations, rules and laws, move emergency forward, and do a good job of forecast and prevention.
Under the theme of “Efficient, Pollution-Free, Zero-Carbon-Emission Transformation of Coal — Introduction to Disruptive Technology of Hydrogen-Power-Heat-Gas Poly-generation and Carbon Resource Utilization by Supercritical Water Gasification-based Coal”, Academician Guo Liejin elaborated on the supercritical water gasification. He pointed out that the technology is China’s independent intellectual property technology, which achieves “high quality price of safe, efficient, clean, low-carbon poly-generation”. He added that the technology can not only give birth to an industry with trillion level output value, but also directly provide a strong technological support for achieving the “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” target and promoting green development.
Under the theme of “Cultivating Top-Notch Innovative Talents, Guiding Future Transformation of Aeronautics and Astronautics”, Academician Xiang Jinwu elaborated on the important guiding role of top-notch innovative talents in the future development of aeronautics and astronautics technology in the face of revolutionary and disruptive technological changes from three aspects, i.e. “New Requirements for Leading Talent Training under Future Technologies”, “Beihang University’s Foundation and Exploration in Top-Notch Innovative Talent Training” and “Beihang University’s Training Plan for Innovative Talents in Aeronautics and Astronautics”. He stressed the need to aim at the development of future technologies in need, accelerate the innovation of systems and mechanisms, break conventions, constraints and barriers, and do a good job of forward-looking and strategic training of future leading talents in scientific and technological innovation.
