HUTB Students Achieve Good Results in the 24th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition

From July 25 to 29, the national final of the 24th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang. HUTB students achieved good results in the four categories of artificial intelligence innovation competition, robot innovation competition, deep learning smart vehicle competition and aged service robot competition, including 2 national first prizes, 4 national second prizes and 2 national third prizes.
Twenty-four China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competitions have been held since 1999. It is a national discipline contest with long history and wide influence. The competition aims to encourage students to participate in the scientific and technological innovation practice in robot and artificial intelligence, improve the quality of teamwork, and cultivate the innovation and entrepreneurship spirit. The competition has been included in the National College Discipline Competition Ranking List and the National College Students Competition Analysis Report released by the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE). This year’s competition adopted the “online + offline” mode. The competition included the innovation category, competition category and application category. More than 10000 teams from over 800 colleges, including the Peking University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University and Harbin Institute of Technology, participated in the competition. After fierce competition, more than 1000 teams entered the national final.
HUTB attached high importance to the discipline contest. The Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies organized the college competition, and selected 28 teams. 12 teams finally entered the national final. All the instructors and participating students have prepared for the competition since March. They overcame difficulties, actively prepared for the competition, repeatedly debugged the equipment, improved the roadshow and reply, and achieved good results in the national final. Through the competition, HUTB further cultivates the students’ practical ability, enhances the students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability, advances the integration of such disciplines as artificial intelligence, microelectronics, computer, economy and management, promotes the reform and innovation of the “course-competition integration” talent training mode, and improves the talent training quality and competitiveness.
