Unveiling Ceremony of Creative Research Center for Hunan Social Science(China-Africa Econommy and Trade In-Depth Cooperation) Convenes

On April 12, Creative Research Center for Hunan Social Science(China-Africa Econommy and Trade In-Depth Cooperation) was unveiled at China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council. Xu Xiangping, Counselor of Hunan Provincial People's Government and President of China Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, and Song Zhifu, Party Secretary and Executive Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, attended the unveiling ceremony and unveiled the base. The head of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of HUTB, representatives of researchers from the Strategic Research Institute for Free Trade Zone Construction and China-Africa Economy and Trade Cooperation, and representatives of enterprises and institutions involving the economic and trade cooperation with Africa in Hunan Province attended the ceremony. Liu Siwei, Honorary First-class Professor and Senior Professor of HUTB, was invited to attend and give the first lecture of base.

After the unveiling ceremony, Professor Liu Siwei gave a lecture entitled "New Trends of World Trade and Thoughts on Deepening China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation". He deeply explained the new opportunities and challenges faced by China-Africa economic and trade cooperation from five aspects: new global changes and new trends in world trade, historical evolution of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, characteristics of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation in the new stage, issues restricting China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and countermeasures for deepening China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, provided new enlightenment for the in-depth development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, and put forward guiding suggestions and countermeasures for the issues that shall be focused on and urgently solved in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. Professor Liu Siwei's lecture was highly praised by the research experts and practitioners involved in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and the guests inside and outside the province.

Creative Research Center for Hunan Social Science(China-Africa Econommy and Trade In-Depth Cooperation) was approved by Hunan Federation of Social Sciences in January 2022, and was jointly established by HUTB and China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council. The approval of the base is another full embodiment of implementing the national strategic deployment, deeply integrating into the construction of "the belt and road initiative" and promoting the strategy of comprehensive opening up and rising under the strong support of the Party Committee of HUTB and the forward-looking guidance of Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician, Party Secretary and chief think tank expert of China (Hunan) Free Trade Zone. Under the leadership of Secretary Chen Xiaohong, the base will devote itself to building a China-Africa economic and trade data information resource library to provide cooperation information and decision-making reference for the government and enterprises; developing China-Africa economic and trade cooperation information platform, including the information management consultation, investment promotion, financing loans, e-commerce and other service sub-platforms; exploring the establishment of international journals to strengthen the publicity and promotion of China-Africa economic and trade research results and practical application; organizing a high-end forum on China-Africa economic and trade cooperation to enhance the influence of Hunan Province in the field of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation; and building a talent training center for cooperation with Africa to provide multi-field, multi-level and multi-demand talent training services for China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
