On January 17, HUTB Talent Work Conference and 2021 Commendation Conference were grandly held in the Lecture Hall of Economic Management Complex, attended by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Huang Xin, Vice Secretary and President, Vice Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin, and other chief leaders and members of Party Committee together with all the division-level cadres, all the "151" talents and winners, professors, doctoral representatives and representatives of democratic parties, and presided over by President Huang Xin.
Liu Guoquan, Vice President, first read out the list of winners in 2021 and the annual assessment results documents of secondary organizations.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong presented awards to the advanced individuals who won "Outstanding Contribution Award", "Teaching Award of Academician", "Teaching Award of Academician (Nomination Award)", "Academic Innovation Award of Academician", "Academic Newcomer Award of Academician" and "Representative Achievement Award".

After the award ceremony, the principal heads of each secondary organization took the stage in turn to submit the responsibility letter of target management assessment in 2022. All secondary organizations have issued "military orders", saying that in the new year, under the strong leadership of HUTB Party Committee, they will continue to take responsibility, pay close attention to implementation and forge ahead, and make greater contributions to building an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics.

Subsequently, Vice Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin read out the appointment documents of the first batch of "151" talent project candidates of HUTB during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Secretary Chen Xiaohong issued letters of appointment to Professor Deng Lianrong, the representative of specially-appointed professors of "Lushan Outstanding Scholars", Professor Liu Saihong, the representative of Post A of "Lushan Scholars", Professor Chen Yan, the representative of Post B of "Lushan Scholars", Professor Li Jianfei, the representative of Post A of "Lushan Young Scholars", and Wu Weiping, the representative of Post B of "Lushan Young Scholars".
Professor Liu Siwei and Professor Xu Ge spoke as talent representatives. Professor Liu Siwei said that he is grateful for the great new era of reform and opening up led by the Communist Party of China and thanks to HUTB for accomplishing himself; he sent a congratulation to the young and middle-aged teachers who won various talent awards today, and congratulated HUTB on forming a new situation of developing and strengthening the university with talents; he showed the expect that under the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and under the strong leadership of Party Committee of HUTB with Secretary Chen Xiaohong as the squad leader, the talent work of HUTB will create greater glories. He pointed out that young and middle-aged teachers are in the best years of their lives, and a person shall leave the best memories in his/her life in the best years. He said that he believes HUTB is a place where everyone can succeed, make achievements and create wonderful things in teaching and educating people, conducting scholarly research and serving the country, and he hopes the future of HUTB would be better because of everyone's wonderful work. Professor Xu Ge said that a series of innovative measures implemented by HUTB made everyone feel the encouragement and care, and she expected to work together with all the "green peppers" to embrace youth and pride in the journey of HUTB to achieve the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" and build an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics.
Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, delivered a speech entitled "Revitalizing the 'First Resource', Building a Highland of Talents, and Injecting Majestic Power into Realizing HUTB's Dream of Creating First Class". She pointed out that in 2021, all HUTBers seized the historical opportunity and wrote a new chapter of high-quality development with one heart and one mind, making ten major achievements: Party building led to a new situation, a new vision was planned at the start of "14th Five-Year Plan", the education took on a new look, new achievements were made in discipline construction, new fruits were obtained in strengthening university with talents, new breakthroughs were made in scientific research, new achievements were made in cultivating people by virtue, new atmosphere was shown in open-up education, new efforts were made in serving teachers and students, and the reputation of education achieved new height.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong emphasized that the new journey will start again in 2022, and the development of doctoral programs shall be enhanced. We shall continue to take "grasping the style of work, changing the style of study, improving the quality, and seeking innovation" as the work themes, do our best and always keep the spirits of "breaking" and "creating", and do our jobs in following 10 aspects to promote HUTB to achieve new glory and present 20th National Congress of CPC with outstanding achievements: 1. further strengthen the theoretical armed forces; 2. conduct the party building and ideological & political works; 3. vigorously promote the reform and innovation; 4. ensure that all the indicators of doctoral programs meet the standards; 5. comprehensively improve the quality of personnel training; 6. vigorously implement the "Talent Revitalization Plan"; 7. significantly enhance the ability of scientific research and innovation; 8. continuously improve the level of servicing economy and society; 9. continue to do practical things for teachers and students; 10. conduct the epidemic prevention and control and guarantee the safety and stability.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out that in last September, General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Central Talent Work Conference, from the overall development of the Party and state, scientifically answered a series of major theoretical and practical problems of talent work in the new era, which is a programmatic document guiding talent work in the new era, a mobilization order to promote the high-quality development of talent work in the whole Party and the whole country, and also points out the direction and provides principles for HUTB to do a good job in talent work. At present, HUTB has entered a new journey of fully realizing the strategic goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" and making efforts to build an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics. We are closer to the dream of building a first-class university than at any time in history, and we are more eager for talents than at any time in history.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong demanded that, HUTB talent work shall be guided by Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. The faculty shall further thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Central Talent Work Conference, implement the spirit of the first Party Congress of HUTB, adhere to the Party's management over the talents and the strategic position of talents leading development, deeply execute the strategy of strengthening university with talents in the new era, pay more attention to cultivating, uniting, leading and accomplishing talents, conduct the talent work of HUTB in the new era with higher standards, greater efforts and more practical measures, create a new highland for innovation and talents, provide strong talent support for realizing the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" in 2025, and lay a solid talent foundation for building an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics in 2035. We shall complete the following tasks: 1. speed up the formation of "new ideas" to meet the demands of talent work; 2. perform the top-level design to make a "big plan" for the prior development of talents; 3. prepare the policies for introducing the high-level and urgently needed talents; 4. focus on creating a "big stage" for growing all kinds of talents; 5. create an innovative "talent pool" closely following the "Four Facing"; 6. speed up the construction of a "new pattern" of talent development system and mechanism; 7. build an "excellent ecology" to ensure the quality service of talents.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong called on all Party members and cadres to be "experts in attracting talents and using talents", vigorously carry forward the spirit of scientists, promote HUTB to achieve greater glory, and build a more prosperous HUTB, our common family. Everyone shall make joint efforts to develop HUTB with outstanding talents, embrace an infinitely bright future together and realize the dream of creating first-class technology and business university.
Finally, all the staff sang Singing the Motherland in unison, and everyone expressed their heartfelt wishes with singing, wishing the great motherland prosperity and peace.
