Magnificent mountains and rivers are beautiful, and the year is new. Say goodbye to the extraordinary year 2021 and welcome the year 2022, which bears dreams and cultivates hope. We extend our most sincere greetings, heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all HUTBers, higher authorities who care about and support the development of HUTB, alumni at home and abroad and people from all walks of life!
Looking back at 2021, the Communist Party of China is in its heyday at its 100th anniversary, and China's huge ships are moving forward steadily in the Sudden and perplexing changes. HUTB has always been united with the Party and at the same frequency as the country. Guarding the most beautiful initial heart and being determined to take responsibility, we are all running hard, and we are all dream catchers.
In the past year, the initial heart was firm under the guidance of party building. HUTB holds high the great banner of Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Party history study and education are carried out in a solid manner, the work of "Three-whole Education" goes deep and practical, excellent university style, teaching style and study style are gradually taking shape, the employment rate of graduates ranks among the top universities in the province, HUTB has been appraised as a provincial advanced organization in terms of employment and entrepreneurship work, the ranking of entering test scores among all colleges and universities in the province has leapt to a record high, the construction of grass-roots organizations and cadre work has been vigorously strengthened, the "cadre lecture hall" has been innovatively implemented, the epidemic prevention and control work has been solidly promoted, the campus security and stability have been effectively maintained, and HUTB has been appraised as a provincial advanced organization in terms of the employment and entrepreneurship work of graduates. In the process of realizing a new leap in history, HUTB constantly injects great power of thought and practice.
In the past year, the initial heart flashed in the blueprint. The first party congress of HUTB was successfully held, the strategic goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and the "seven major projects" were fully implemented; HUTB charter and the "14th Five-Year Plan" guided the direction, and the integrated development of "new engineering courses+ new business courses + new liberal courses" and science courses has initially taken shape. On the new journey of building an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics, HUTBers will forge ahead bravely.
In the past year, initial heart beat fast in the pursuit of excellence. HUTB won 3 special projects of the national key R&D plan, and the number of projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Fund of China continued to grow well; State Key Laboratory of Data Intelligence and Smart Society (Cultivation) and the Hunan Engineering Research Center of Industrial Internet and Digital Twin were approved to be established, and an artificial intelligence social laboratory was jointly established with Changsha Municipal People's Government; the annual research funds exceeded 100 million yuan; the construction of national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors enjoyed a bumper harvest, all the applications for master's degree authorization points were passed, and 32 provincial-level first class undergraduate courses were added. In the pursuit of excellence, we never stop.
In the past year, the initial heart bloomed in the breakthrough. From the academician team selected as the "Huang Danian-style Teacher Team in National Colleges and Universities" to the teachers listed in the national high-level talent support plan; from winning the special prize of classroom teaching competition in colleges and universities in the province, to the grand slam in the provincial curriculum ideological and political teaching competition, the majority of teachers are diligent and pragmatic with innumerable great achievements; from 17 teams winning awards in National Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition, which refreshed the best achievements in history, to 91 national awards and more than 240 provincial awards for various discipline competitions, and to women basketball and football teams entering the national competition, and 8 gold medals in the tennis competition in the whole province, the students developed in an all-round way and shined brilliantly, with excellence, diligence and civilization increasingly becoming a habit.
In the past year, the initial heart was honed in reform and innovation. Seven new engineering and liberal arts schools were added, optimized and adjusted, 19 new research institutes were established, and 22 new modern laboratories were built, which are more closely connected with economic and social development. Deep cooperation was conducted with Changsha Municipal People's Government, Xiangjiang New District Management Committee, Management Committee of Yuelu Mountain University S&T City, Management Committee of Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industries Park and other government departments, as well as more than ten well-known enterprises such as SANY Group, Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., CRCHI; 16 leading talents in science and technology including academicians were introduced. HUTB's "circle of friends" is expanding, and the talent team is growing unprecedentedly.
In the past year, the initial heart was sublimated in creating happiness together. Qiushi Academy and Qiusuo Academy became the new "online famous points", Nanya Apartment, Lingnan Shuwei Western Restaurant and Yingcai Tennis Court were put into use, and the construction of Tongzipo Road Overpass and high-quality kindergarten was started; Non-institution staff achieved equal pay for equal work, the special fund for "common prosperity" was launched, the series of activities of "Humanistic HUTB” and "Artistic HUTB” was in full swing, and the assistance work in the village was solidly promoted; faculty and students can make an appointment with a specialist without leaving HUTB, and the campus service platform provides help 24 hours a day... "Teachers and students are no small matter, and branches and leaves are always related to each other. HUTB makes efforts to do practical things for teachers and students, draw a most beautiful concentric circle and build a community of destiny.
Time and tide wait for no man and God rewards the diligent. Through the unremitting efforts, HUTB stands at a new and higher starting point, and has unprecedented self-confidence in development. We sincerely thank every HUTBer for their unremitting struggle! Everyone takes advantage of the new era and pursuits the dreams of HUTB, and they look valiant and beautiful!
On the journey towards the goal of the second century, at the important strategic opportunity of HUTB to take advantage of the trend and go up, and in the critical period of development, we shall look forward to the grand blueprint of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and embark on a new road of taking the exam, and shall be led by party building, take moral education as the foundation, be mindful of the "big country", keep the initial heart, undertake the mission, strive for excellence and create first-class, and run at high acceleration, establish new atmosphere and create new future in the continuous struggle.
Take history as a mirror and create the future. In 2022, We will conscientiously study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important speeches, the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the 12th Provincial Party Congress. With the spirit of "pioneering", the drive of "creating" and the style of "doing", we will try our best to do all the works of project establishment and construction of key institution to develop doctoral programs, and promote clean party style, clean campus style, clean teaching style, fresh study style and clear culture, so that innovative, digital, green and happy HUTB will have better color and brighter background, and welcome the successful opening of 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements!
