Good News! HUTB Approved to Establish Hunan Engineering Research Center of "Industrial Internet and Digital Twin Technology"

Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province announced the list of Hunan engineering research centers in 2021. Hunan Engineering Research Center of "Industrial Internet and Digital Twin Technology" led by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, was successfully approved, which is the second provincial engineering research center approved in HUTB after the Hunan Engineering Research Center of "Ecological Environment Big Data and Intelligent Decision Technology".

Relying on HUTB, the center is jointly established with School of Automation and School of Business of Central South University, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited, Hunan Central South Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. and Hunan HOPE Innovation Technology Development Co., Ltd., with a university-enterprise collaborative innovation platform in the form of joint-stock cooperation. Facing the industrial application of Industrial Internet and Digital Twin Technology, focusing on the technical problems in key areas such as industrial intelligent sensing and edge computing, 5G+ industrial Internet, trusted and safe sharing of industrial big data, digital twin construction and engineering under complex working conditions, and intelligent manufacturing process optimization, the center will carry out relevant core technology research and development, achievement transformation and engineering application demonstration.

The approval of Hunan Engineering Research Center of "Industrial Internet and Digital Twin Technology" will further optimize the layout of provincial scientific research platform of HUTB, and play an important role in promoting HUTB to create "peak" and "plateau" disciplines, build an advantageous and characteristic discipline system of integration development between “new engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal courses" and science courses, and realize the strategic goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands". In addition, it is of great significance to enhance the core competitiveness of the networked, intelligent and digital transformation of Hunan manufacturing industry and promote the realization of strategy "Three Highlands and Four New Missions" in Hunan.
