Changsha Rail Transit Line 6 is the east-west backbone line in the third phase construction plan of Changsha Rail Transit, starting from Xiejiaqiao Station in the west and reaching T1 and T2 terminals of Huanghua Airport in the east. The total estimated investment of the project is up to 36.9 billion yuan, the total length of line is 48.11 km, and there are 34 stations, including 13 transfer stations (connected with 9 subways, 1 maglev line and 2 intercity lines), with an average distance of 1.44 km. Line 6 is the first line of Changsha metro with advanced technology methods such as super-large cross-section underground excavation (the excavation cross-section area is about 418 m2), slurry shield separate launching, rectangular pipe jacking, etc.; the line crossing the largest number of districts and counties, covering the widest area, with the longest distance, the largest number of transfer stations and the most difficult construction and the first direct line to the airport in the approved construction plan of Changsha rail transit network; the first line in Changsha to choose Type A cars (with wider car body and more passengers), and also the first subway line in PPP mode in Changsha; the most advanced precision measurement technology of high-speed rail track control network in China makes the whole track connection more precise and smooth, just like "sleeping on Simmons".

HUTB is the eleventh station of Changsha Rail Transit Line 6 from west to east. With the active efforts of HUTB, the station is finally named as "HUTB Station", effectively enhancing the social influence of HUTB. During the construction of the station, HUTB actively cooperated with Changsha Suicheng Metro Co., Ltd. to implement the construction, vacated some campuses to cooperate with the subway construction, and gave all aspects of construction support to the construction unit, thus contributing to the construction of this major livelihood project in Changsha. The successful completion of the station has also realized the wishes and demands of our teachers and students for many years-"You can get on the subway when you leave campus", which will provide greater convenience for our teachers and students to travel and provide more comprehensive support for the development of HUTB.
It is reported that Changsha Rail Transit Line 6 is expected to be officially put into operation in June 2022. (Written by Zhang Gaoyang and photo by Chen Luming and Zhang Gaoyang)
