Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician was employed as the Deputy Director of Expert Advisory Committee on Developing Hunan to a Strong Manufacturing Province to further play the leading role of strategic scientists in S&T innovation and serving national and regional economic and social development, highlight the responsibility of CAE academicians, conduct research and demonstration around the development strategy, policies and measures and major issues of the manufacturing industry in Hunan, provide the important consultation and decision-making opinions for Hunan to speed up the cultivation of industrial clusters (industrial chains), promote the construction of a strong manufacturing province, and build an important national advanced manufacturing highland, empower the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry with new generation information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and blockchain, and help to enhance the core competitiveness of manufacturing industry in Hunan, which will also lay a good foundation and provide a powerful driving force for HUTB to achieve the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" and build an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics.
It is reported that Hunan's manufacturing industry has developed 3 trillion-level industries and 14 hundred-billion-level businesses, with 3 hundred-billion-level enterprises, 30 ten-billion-level enterprises and 232 state-level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the added value of large-scale industries in the province increased by 6.9% annually. Hunan Province will continue to promote the construction of a strong manufacturing province, and strive to build an important advanced manufacturing highland in the country. By 2025, the added value of manufacturing industry will account for about 30% of the regional GDP, with an average annual growth rate of 8%, and the advanced manufacturing industry will account for more than 60% of all manufacturing industries, forming 5 trillion-level industries, more than 20 ten-billion-level industries and more than 5 ten-billion-level enterprises; By 2035, a new modern industrial system with strong competitiveness will be established, and Hunan will truly become an important advanced manufacturing highland in China.
