Sub-forum "Intelligent Decision-making and Smart Social Governance" of 14th Postgraduate Innovation Forum of Hunan Province Held in HUTB

On December 19, the sub-forum "Intelligent Decision-making and Smart Social Governance" of 14th Postgraduate Innovation Forum of Hunan Province, sponsored by the Academic Degree Committee of People's Government of Hunan Province and Department of Education of Hunan Province, and hosted by the Graduate School and Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies of HUTB, opened in the Yingcai Lecture Hall, Library of HUTB, and was attended by Vice President Liu Guoquan. Heads of relevant secondary organizations of HUTB participated in the meeting and Professor Wang Zongrun and Professor Wang Yong from Central South University, Professor Liu Xinwang from National University of Defense Technology and Professor Xu Xuesong from HUTB took part in the meeting as invited experts. Representatives of award-winning postgraduates and tutors of sub-forum and the representatives of postgraduates and tutors of HUTB attended the meeting online and offline. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Xuanhua, Dean of Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies.
On behalf of HUTB, Vice President Liu Guoquan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Academic Degree Committee of People's Government of Hunan Province and Department of Education of Hunan Province, and extended a warm welcome to experts, scholars, teachers and students. He pointed out that this sub-forum will closely follow the theme of "intelligent decision-making and smart social governance", build an academic platform for postgraduates to "exchange the innovative thinking, broaden the academic horizons and stimulate the innovation enthusiasm", so as to enhance the postgraduates' understanding of the development status and trends of intelligent decision-making and smart social governance and their impact on economic and social development, understand the frontier of disciplines, and get to know the advanced theories and methods. He hopes that through this forum, the scientific research and innovation ability and training quality of postgraduates in management science and engineering in our province and even in China will be further improved, the education level of postgraduates in management science and engineering in our province will be enhanced, and the exchanges and mutual assistance among postgraduates in various universities will be strengthened.
Zhou Xiancheng, Dean of Graduate School of HUTB, read out the winners of sub-forum papers on behalf of the organizing committee. A total of 103 papers were received in the essay writing activity of the sub-forum "Intelligent Decision-making and Smart Social Governance" of this postgraduate innovation forum. After expert review, 47 award-winning papers were selected, including 10 first prizes, 16 second prizes and 21 third prizes.
Su Xiangwei, a postgraduate class of 2023 majoring in management science and engineering in HUTB, delivered a speech as a representative of the award-winning postgraduates. He said that since postgraduates have taken the first step towards academic research, they must overcome difficulties. Do not forget your initiative mind, forge ahead, open the eyes and extend the pattern, enrich yourselves with knowledge and exercise yourselves in the practice.
In the theme report session of invited experts, Professor Wang Zongrun from Central South University, a "Excellent Talent in the New Century" of the Ministry of Education, Professor Wang Yong from Central South University, a Young Changjiang Scholar, Professor Liu Xinwang from National University of Defense Technology, a national outstanding youth and Professor Xu Xuesong of HUTB gave academic reports with the themes of Measuring Dynamic Policy Effects of Social Distance and Financial Assistance Policy: a Time-varying Parameter Multi-level Dynamic Factor Model Approach, Application of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Automobile Lightweight Design, Latest Progress of Robust Multimodal Clustering Algorithm and Frontier of Digital Economy and Smart Society respectively, to broaden the academic horizons, clarify the research ideas and guide the research directions for postgraduates.
In the academic discussion of postgraduates, the sub-forum also held the academic seminars on the themes of "Intelligent Decision-making" and "Smart Social Governance" in Conference Room 206 in Technology Building and Conference Room at 15th Floor of Economic Management Complex, where the representatives of award-winning postgraduates from Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Southeast University, Nanjing Audit University, HUTB and other universities shared their papers and had academic discussions with postgraduates attending online and offline.
During the forum, participants also visited the platform of National Center for Basic Science in Technology Building, provincial key laboratories, engineering research centers and various key laboratories, and felt the exquisite, happy and comfortable campus living environment and conditions of HUTB.
