Students of HUTB Win Good Results in 2021 Hunan College Internet of Things Application Innovation Design Competition

From December 11th to 12th, 2021 (the 5th) Hunan University Bio-networking Application Innovation Design Competition ended successfully. The competition attracted 33 universities in the province, including National University of Defense Technology, Hunan University and Central South University. A total of 215 teams and 645 students signed up for the competition. Students from the School of Computer Science of our school won 7 awards, including 1 first prize, 4 second prizes and 2 third prizes. Mr. Li Chuang won the honorary title of "Excellent Instructor". The school won the "Excellent Organization Award".

This competition is hosted by Department of Education of Hunan Province, co-organized by Hunan Internet of Things Federation and undertaken by Changsha University. The competition includes three categories such as creative competition, skill competition and challenge competition with a purpose to improve the application, design and development of Internet of Things, cultivate the innovative ability and teamwork spirit of college students, enhance the application and practical ability of college students in the fields related to Internet of Things technology, promote the reform of teaching content and teaching methods of Internet of Things related majors, and improve the quality of professional talent training.

During the summer vacation, the students in our school have been training hard and constantly delving into various complex and even interdisciplinary technical problems. In the creative competition, the work "Smart Water Treatment Platform" directed by Yang Yifu and Zhou Han and the work "Design and Implementation of Campus Resource Optimization System Based on Visual Perception" directed by Yang Junfeng and Li Xiaolong won the second prize respectively, and the work "Intelligent Security Monitoring System of Oilfield Based on Internet of Things" directed by Dong Li won the third prize. In the skill competition, the student teams guided by teachers such as Li Chuang, Zhou Han, Yang Yifu and Dong Li worked together and showed the real capabilities.
