Achievement by Professor Liu Siwei of HUTB Awarded the Outstanding Achievement of "Contributing to Building a Well-off Society in an All-round Way"

On the afternoon of December 17, the selection and commendation meeting for the contributions of democratic parties, federations of industry and commerce and public figures without party affiliation to building a well-off society in an all-round way was held in Beijing. Wang Yang, a Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC, attended the meeting and give speech. On behalf of the CPC Central Committee, he congratulated the commended collectives and individuals, and encouraged the broad masses of members of the united front to stick to the initial intention of cooperation, be mindful of the "big country", and make new contributions in the new journey of building a socialist modernized country in an all-round way.
To celebrate the great historic achievements in building a well-off society in an all-round way, fully reflect and publicize the important contributions made by democratic parties, federations of industry and commerce, and public figures without party affiliation to actively participate in the practice of building a well-off society in an all-round way since the 18th National Congress of CPC, and further mobilize the broad masses of members of the united front to strive for the first place and make contributions in the new journey of implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan and building a socialist modernized country in an all-round way, recently, the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, the central committees of the democratic parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce jointly launched the selection and commendation activities in 2021 for the contributions of the democratic parties, the federations of industry and commerce and public figures without party affiliation to building a well-off society in an all-round way. After extensive recommendation and step-by-step evaluation, 100 advanced collectives, 96 advanced individuals, 50 outstanding achievements in suggestions, and 50 outstanding achievements in social services were selected.
Continuously Promoting the Construction of Dongting Lake Ecological Economic Zone by Liu Siwei, a librarian of Hunan Literature and History Research Institute, a former counselor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province and a first-class honorary professor of HUTB, was recommended by Hunan Provincial Committee of democratic alliance to participate in the evaluation, and was rated as an outstanding achievement of suggestions. Only two achievements in Hunan Province were selected, which fully reflects Professor Liu Siwei's outstanding contribution in participating in politics as a public figure of democratic party.
