Students of HUTB Achieve Good Results in Hunan College English Speaking · Writing · Reading Contest

From November 26 to 28, the quarter-final of Hunan division of 2021 Hunan College English Speaking · Writing · Reading Contest & "FLTRP ETIC Cup" English Speaking · Writing · Reading Contest were held in Hunan University of Technology. The team of HUTB is composed of 9 students, and won the first prize of the whole province (ranked second), 4 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 2 third prizes of individuals.

Organized by the Department of Education of Hunan Province, this contest is the only national foreign language competition of colleges recognized by the Ministry of Education. This year, English speaking, writing and reading are integrated for the first time. A total of 50 teams and 429 contestants from all undergraduate colleges in the province participated in the contest, with unprecedented scale and fierce competition.

The team of HUTB is trained and guided by the tutor team of School of Foreign Languages. The English speaking tutor team is composed of Zhu Lihua, Liang Xiao, Li Danqian, Mo Jiaojiao and Shi Bo, and the writing and reading tutor team is composed of Wang Jing, Wu Xiaojun, Zhou Ling, Zhang Huiping, Gao Tao and Luo Xiaoyu. In the process of preparing for the contest, Vice President Zhang Ling and the heads of Academic Affairs Division, School of Foreign Languages and other organizations attached great importance to and strongly supported the pre-contest training and other preparations. Excellent results fully demonstrate the high-level English speaking, writing and reading abilities of teachers and students, good comprehensive language quality and excellent team strength.
