HUTB Holds the Publicity and Education Activities of "Prevention and Control of AIDS" for College Students in 2021

On the morning of December 1, the publicity and education activities of "Prevention and Control of AIDS" for college students in 2021, jointly sponsored by Hunan Association of STD/AIDS Prevention and Control and Hunan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and jointly undertaken by HUTB and Changsha First Hospital, were held in the Yingcai Lecture Hall, Library of HUTB. This activity is themed by "Life First, Ending AIDS, Health Equality", attended by Li Xinwu, President of Hunan Association of STD/AIDS Prevention and Control, and Gan Dejian, Vice President of HUTB, and participated in by the head of STD/AIDS Prevention and Control Department of Hunan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, heads of Student Affairs Division, Youth League Committee, School of Sports and Health, Medical and Health Center (infirmary) and other departments and student representatives. Chen Zhong, Deputy Chief Physician of Changsha First Hospital, Kuang Yun, Director of Administrative Office of Changsha Zhongda Sunshine Social Work Service Center, and Deng Weiwen, Project Manager of Beijing WANTAI Biological Pharmacy Enterprise Co., Ltd. were invited to give lectures.
Vice President Gan Dejian delivered a speech at the launch of the event. He pointed out that AIDS has become a major public health issue in the world. HUTB has long attached great importance to the "Prevention and Control of AIDS", set up a special leading group, and formulated a series of management systems and preventive measures. He hoped that the students would regard excellence, diligence and civilization as a habit, health and happiness as a responsibility, work together, develop healthy study and living habits, and make campus life more sunny and energetic.
President Li Xinwu delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer. She said that AIDS is a major public and social problem faced by people all over the world. We shall look at AIDS prevention and control from the perspective of personal health, family happiness and social harmony, so as to achieve the participation of the whole people, full commitment and comprehensive prevention. She encouraged everyone to develop the habit of healthy living, be the first person responsible for self-health, and become the hope of the family and the pillar of society.
In the theme lecture session, Director Kuang Yun explained the history of HIV transmission and the importance of sexual health for AIDS prevention and control. Deputy Director Chen Zhong explained the irresistible destructiveness of HIV based on the medical big data and a large number of clinical cases, and popularized the basic prevention ways and measures of AIDS transmission. Starting from practical operation, Manager Deng Weiwen explained in detail the use steps and precautions of HIV detection reagents, and warned everyone that when they found themselves at risk of infection, they shall see a doctor in time and be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others. During the lecture, the students listened carefully and actively raised the questions to the three keynote speakers under the very lively atmosphere.
After the lecture, teachers and students went to Yingcai Square to visit the theme activity of "Stay away from drugs, live the youth without AIDS". Under the narrator's explanation, everyone has a deeper understanding of the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS, the harm and types of drugs.
