On the morning of November 30, HUTB held the unveiling ceremony of Qiusuo Academy on the fifth floor of the library of the North Campus, which was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin, and Vice Presidents Liu Guoquan, Gan Dejian and Yi Mianyang, participated in by the heads of relevant functional departments, some representatives of teachers and students, and presided over by Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin.

On behalf of HUTB, Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, expressed warm congratulations on the official opening of Qiusuo Academy. She pointed out that the North Campus is a key education area for HUTB. After the completion of Qiusuo Academy, HUTB will promote a series of construction projects in the North Campus, hoping to build the North Campus into a study and living space that HUTB students yearn for. Academy has become a beautiful business card of HUTB. Many visiting academicians, experts and government leaders spoke highly of it, and agreed that the construction of academies in HUTB is at the forefront of universities in China.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong emphasized that books are beacons standing in the vast sea of time, and reading can enhance the realm, shape the personality, cultivate the temperament and edify the connotation. She encourages the students to make full use of the academy environment created by HUTB, absorb energy and knowledge in the ocean of knowledge, and make efforts to grow into outstanding talents with global vision, feelings of home and country, professionalism and benevolence. Meanwhile, we shall look at ourselves with a normal heart, serve the society with enterprising spirit, do our best for the country, and contribute our intelligence and youthful strength to the development of HUTB and country.
After the ceremony, chief leaders inspected the scene of the Qiusuo Academy and expressed condolences to the students in the Academy. "What is your major?" "What are you learning?" "Are you satisfied with the campus environment?" "What other suggestions do you have for HUTB?" ..... The cordial greetings expressed the true concern for the vast number of HUTB students. The students warmly greeted Secretary Chen Xiaohong and expressed their gratitude to HUTB. Secretary Chen Xiaohong highly affirmed the students' good mental outlook of enthusiasm, liveliness, confidence, sunshine, civilization and courtesy, and encouraged them to study and work hard.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong highly affirmed the construction work carried out by relevant functional departments, and further put forward the work requirements, stressing that it is necessary to continuously strengthen the infrastructure construction of the North Campus, and strive to promote the study, work and living environment of the North Campus to achieve a new qualitative leap with a pragmatic attitude, solid style and powerful measures.
It is understood that Qiusuo Academy is another modern academy newly built after the establishment of Xiande Maker Academy, Cuiya Maker Academy, Songya Academy, Creative Space, Chufeng Academy, Qiushi Academy, Wenjin Bookbar, Qiuzhen Bookbar and Shuwei Western Restaurant, and integrates the functions of book reading, reading corner, study and discussion, electronic reading, etc. It consists of four spaces: Zhicheng Xuan, Zhixin Xuan, Weishi Xuan and Weixin Xuan, with a total area of 2,390 m2, 1,054 seats and more than 800 fingerprint storage cabinets. The completion of Qiusuo Academy will strongly promote the construction of academy culture in the North Campus, and create a better learning environment and a stronger learning atmosphere for the vast number of HUTB students.
