Recently, the list of the top 2% scientists in the world released by the team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University has been updated for 2021, and Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician has been selected into the list again.
Previously, the team released the first edition in July 2019 and the second edition in October 2020, among which the 2020 edition attracted a lot of attention from April to May this year. The results of the first two editions of the ranking of scientists by the team led by John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University were published in PLoSBiology, so this is a relatively formal statistic.
The list is based on Scopus database and the score is made according to the following six key factors: total citation; Hirsch H-index; Schreiber Hm-index modified by co-author; Individual author; individual or first author; the number of article references of individual, first or last author.
In 2019, the team led by JohnP.A. Ioannidis, medical professor, honorary doctor of theoretical science and medical doctor of Health Research and Policy Laboratory, Department of Biomedical Data Science, School of Statistics, Stanford University, published the data of the top 100,000 scientists in the world, which is different from the list of highly cited scholars.
In 2020, the team lead by Professor Ioannidis updated this data. Considering the differences in different sub-research fields, top 2% scientists in the world were selected from nearly 7 million scientists, covering arts, science and engineering, including 22 fields and 176 sub-disciplines. The updated data also showed the comprehensive citation index ranking of each scientist in the sub-disciplines. This data provides a measure of the long-term scientific research performance of scientists, which can reflect scientists' influence more objectively and truly.
This release is the 2021 version, which is different from the version released in 2020. This version is released on October 20, 2021, and the time node of statistical data is 1960-2021, covering 186,177 scientists around the world.
Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, is listed, ranking 204th among the 777 domestic scholars in the field of information and communication technology, fully demonstrating the important academic influence of Academician Chen among her peers.
