HUTB Holds a Faculty Table Tennis Competition Themed by "Smart Table Tennis Stimulates the Dreams"

Practice a healthy body and promote the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands". On the evening of November 12, HUTB held a faculty table tennis competition themed by "Smart Table Tennis Stimulates the Dreams" in the gymnasium of main campus. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Presidents Liu Guoquan and Gan Dejian attended and competed with the contestants. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin.

Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, announced the official start of the faculty table tennis competition themed by "Smart Table Tennis Stimulates the Dreams" and kicked off the competition. Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Party Secretary, encouraged all contestants to establish the concept of "health first", carry forward the Olympic spirit of "higher, faster and stronger", demonstrate the level and style, practice a healthy body, and promote the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands".

In the competition, the contestants served changefully, and be knowledgeable of all skills such as serve and attack, rub the ball to defend, push and block quickly, spin out, etc., and they fought side by side, showing their skills and magical powers in the square-inch field, with the continuous cheers outside the field. Based on the principle of "friendship first, competition second", the contestants shined brilliantly on the field, fully demonstrating the spirit of unity and enterprising of the faculty of HUTB.

This competition was conducted in a mixed team competition for men and women, and composed of five events such as the women's doubles, men's doubles, mixed doubles, men's singles and women's singles. There were 26 branch labour unions and more than 200 contestants participating. After fierce competition, eight branch labour unions, including the labour union II of Administrative Department and labour union of the School of Sports and Health, won the top eight in the total score, and the chief leaders, such as Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CEA Academician, awarded honorary certificates to the winning collective. The competition fully carried forward the sports spirit of unity, cooperation and tenacious struggle, enriched the spare time life of the faculty, enhanced the physical quality of faculty, and laid a good healthy foundation for the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands".
