7th Culture and Art Festival and the First Music Season of HUTB Opens

On the evening of November 11, the 7th Culture and Art Festival and the First Music Season of HUTB opened in Qiushi Academy in Economic Management Complex. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Vice President Liu Guoquan, Chief Leader Li Dingjun, former Chief Leader Chen Liying, as well as the heads of Party Committee Office and Principal Office, Party Committee Publicity Department, Personnel Division, Academic Affairs Division, Youth League Committee, School of Music, School of Art & Design, School of Literature & Journalism enjoyed wonderful evening programs together with teachers and students. Xiao Ming, Dean of School of Music and Music Director of Changsha Symphony Orchestra, served as the guide of the evening party.

Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony where she pointed out that since the first Party Congress, according to the idea of integration of 'New Engineering Courses+ New Business Courses+ New Liberal Arts Courses' and science courses, HUTB has made great efforts to cultivate the innovative, entrepreneurial, practical and compound talents, and achieved outstanding results. She expressed the hope for HUTB to further draw a beautiful picture of the cross-integration of science, humanities and art, and create a campus full of artistic atmosphere and aesthetic connotation for the teachers and students of HUTB, so that "Art HUTB" can shine brilliantly, music can fly the dreams, and art can light up the life. She announced the official opening of the 7th Culture and Art Festival and the First Music Season of HUTB. 

The evening party officially kicked off, and wonderful music programs were staged one after another. Zheng Ai’xin, a young Korean cellist, played Trio: Brahms in B Major, Op. 8together with Tao Lianlin, a teacher and Liao Zezhong, a student from the School of Music. Strings and piano were perfectly integrated, sometimes euphemistic and low, sometimes melodious and elegant, sometimes high and joyful; Dr. Li Cheng, a teacher from the School of Music, performed baritone solo Pearl of the Orientand Song of the Matadorof which Pearl of the Orientdepicts the historical picture after Hong Kong's return to China, which was meaningful and touching, and Song of the Matadorperfectly shapes a triumphant matador with magnificent and vigorous singing; Zheng Ai’xin, a young Korean cellist, played Swanand Free Tangoof which Swanshowed the romantic style of France, and Free Tangoexplains the love of Latin American people for dance and life; Meng Xi, a student from the School of Music, performed the soprano solo Variations on Mayila, expressing the optimistic life feelings of the Kazakh people; Que Shuo, a pianist and doctor in Russia, and dancer Wang Yi, performed the piano and dance The Butterfly Lovers, which aroused people's reverie about the loyal love of Butterfly Lovers; Song Yang, a famous pianist in America, played Piano Concerto Yellow Riverand Chopin Revolutionary Etude, and the heroic tunes pushed the atmosphere of the party to a climax. The party ended successfully with warm applause and cheers from teachers and students.

The music season is a campus brand music art activity initiated by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, and will last until New Year's Day in 2022. Series of activities include 15 music activities such as the opening ceremony party, Concert by Youth Symphony Orchestra, "Rhyme of String - Western Music Concert", Music Lecture by Famous singer Pan Jun, Annual Concert of the School of Music, "National Rhyme - Folk Music Concert", "Whispering on Strings - Cello Concert", Popular Lawn Concert, Chamber Music Trio Concert, "Sound of Nature - Chorus Concert", "When White Keys Meet Black Keys - Piano Concert", "The Past of Singing - Vocal Concert", New Year Concert and Closing Ceremony of Music Season.
