Zeng Wanhui, Chairman of JingjiaMicro, Visits HUBT for Cooperation

On the morning of August 30, Zeng Wanhui, Chairman of Changsha Jingjia Microelectronics Co., Ltd ("JingjiaMicro"), visited HUTB for cooperation. HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician Chen Xiaohong and Vice Presidents Zhang Ling and Yi Mianyang attended the meeting. Leaders of the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, Graduate School, Academic Affairs Division, Academician Office, Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, School ofComputer Science & Information Engineering, and School of Science, were present. The meeting was held in Conference Room 1211, Economic Management Complex, presided over by Vice President Zhang Ling.
Chen Xiaohong gave a welcome speech and introduced the development situation of HUTB. She said that with the completion of "three upgrade", HUTB has developed rapidly. The admission scores have been rising year after year. Students are well-educated and adaptable, and can bear hardships. The employment rate of graduates has been in the forefront among Hunan colleges and universities for many years. Chen stressed that HUTB sticks to serving social development and takes addressing major social needs as the goal. It has implemented the spirit of first Party Congress by constantly optimizing the discipline layout, following the philosophy of "new engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses" integrated with science courses, and focusing on new technologies, new forms, new models and new industries dominated by new-generation information technologies. HUBT is willing to strengthen the industry-university-research cooperation with JingjiaMicro and make new explorations in talent training, achievement transformation and resource sharing.
Chairman Zeng Wanhui thanked Chen Xiaohong for her reception and support. He described the present situation of the company. JingjiaMicro, an innovative high-tech company founded in April 2006, took the lead in China in successfully and independently developing the Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) and industrializing it, and now has become domestic leading manufacturer of GPUs, which are widely used in fields with high reliability requirements. In 2016, it was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange and performed well. He pointed out that the core of the development of high-tech industry lies in talent. With the growing demand for GPUs in various industries, the war for GPU talent has become increasingly fierce. In recent years, under the leadership of Academician Chen, HUTB has achieved fruitful results and obvious advantages in innovation research using artificial intelligence, block chain and other new-generation information technologies. JingjiaMicro is willing to strengthen the cooperation with HUBT, jointly build an industry-university-research platform and make achievements in the development of new-generation intelligent chips and joint training of talents.
The two sides exchanged views and finally reached a consensus on the establishment of a joint school.
