HUTB Holds Opening Ceremony of University History Museum

In order to comprehensively review and summarize the development history of HUTB and guide the faculty and students to take history as a mirror and forge ahead, HUTB Party Committee decided to build a new University History Museum. After more than three months' construction, the new museum was successfully completed on August 30. On the morning of September 15, an opening ceremony was held in the 2F hall of Economic Management Complex. HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician Chen Xiaohong, President Huang Xin, Vice Party Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin and other chief leaders and Party committee members in the university attended the ceremony. Leaders of relevant secondary institutions, personnel involved in the construction of the University History Museum and representatives of teachers and students, were present. The ceremony was presided over by President Huang Xin.
Chen Xiaohong delivered a speech. On behalf of HUTB, she expressed warm congratulations on the completion and official opening of the museum, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the staff who participated in the planning and construction.
Chen Xiaohong said that thanks to more than 70 years of unremitting efforts and successive struggles of several generations, HUTB has achieved today's great achievements. This new University History Museum is another milestone in the history of HUTB. With great importance attached to it, a space for exhibition hall was set aside in a prominent position in the newly-built Economic Management Complex. The development of HUTB over the past 70 years and remarkable achievements made in recent years are displayed in two parts: history and achievements, through words, pictures, graphics, audios, videos and other forms.
Chen Xiaohong stressed that history is the best textbook. In response to the call for learning of the histories of the Party, New China, the reform and opening-up, and socialist development, all the schools and departments should take the opening of the University History Museum as an opportunity, carry out rich and colorful unvervisty history study activities through freshman entrance education and themed day, etc. to further promote teachers and studentsto love HUTB, win glory for HUTB and selflessly contribute to the development of HUTB. She called on all teachers and students to make concerted efforts to forge ahead towards the strategic goal of "three admissions and three highlands", strive to build a distinctive, innovative first-class university of technology and business, create more brilliant achievements and write a more brilliant chapter in the development history of the university.
Later, the chief leaders and Party committee members inaugurated the University History Museum officially.
Under the guidance of Chen Ming, Member of HUTB Party Committee and Head of Publicity Department, the participants entered the University History Museum and looked around. Everyone highly praised the University History Museum and felt excited about the achievements HUTB has made in the past 70 years.
The University History Museum covers a space area of about 240m2 and an exhibition area of about 210m2. In order to create a composed atmosphere, university badge and other artistic elements were integrated to exhibit HUTB's vitality, determination, influence and innovation while inheriting its excellent history. The glorious course of HUTB over the past 70 years, especially remarkable achievements in recent years, are fully displayed through texts, pictures, e-books, multimedia displays, electronic sand tables and three-dimensional contouring, etc.
