HUTB Holds "First Run in New Semester" Activity

On the evening of September 19, at the initiative of HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician Chen Xiaohong, the "First Run in New Semester" activity for undergraduate class of 2025 themed "Run from Now on, Display Youth Vitality" was held at the track-and-field ground of north campus. Vice presidents Liu Guoquan and Gan Dejian were present. Leaders and staff of relevant functional departments, vice Party secretaries of secondary schools, freshman instructors and all undergraduate class of 2025 and representatives of the high-level athletes of HUTB attended the activity.

The event kicked off with an enthusiastic opening speech by the student host. Students from Department of Music Performance sang the songs The Original Dream and My Future is not a Dream, which flied along with the light in the hands of the freshmen.

Vice President Liu Guoquan delivered a speech. He hoped the freshmen could run energetically and persistently with strong will. Vice President Gan Dejian announced the start of the event. As soon as the order was given, freshmen, teachers and military training instructors in t-shirts of different colors started running around the new, spacious circular road in north campus. Their energetic posture became the beautiful scenery in the campus, and their orderly and loud slogans resounded throughout the campus.

After all teachers and students ran around the north campus and returned to the field, the medley began. Impassioned Anthem of Hunan University of Technology and Business reverberated over the track-and-field ground, giving freshmen unlimited strength; enchanting My People, My Country performed by the students of Department of Music Performance showed the determination of HUTB to foster a new generation of patriotic young people. In the end, all the freshmen held up the colorful lights and lined to form the words "I love HUTB". Everyone shouted "I love HUTB" in unbroken chorus. Their love for HUTB was overwhelming and inspiring. The event came to an end in laughter.

"First Run in New Semester" aimed to promote sportsmanship, foster the sports culture, guide the students to love sports and love life, cultivate their positive, resolute and steadfastcharacters, create the good atmosphere for teachers and students to actively participate in sports, and cultivate healthy and moral young people to build HUTB into a first-class university of technology and business.
