2021-09-17
Autumn September is a back-to-school season. On September 16-17, more than 5,100 undergraduate classes of 2025 from across the country gathered at HUTB to start their new college life. HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician Chen Xiaohong, President Huang Xin, Vice Presidents Liu Guoquan and Gan Dejian, and other chief leaders went to the front line to welcome freshmen and their parents, supervise on-site work and express gratitude to the staff and student volunteers.

At the gate, HUTB set up a temperature scan point and an information registration point for epidemic prevention and control. Teachers and student volunteers guided freshmen and their parents to undergo temperature scans and provide health codes, travel history codes and NAT reports, etc. to enter the campus orderly. On both sides of the campus road, student volunteers stuck to their posts and enthusiastically distributed maps, guided roads, directed traffic and helped freshmen carry luggage. At the sign-in point, the staff carried out registration consultation, qualification examination, materials receiving and distribution, anti-fraud publicity for the freshmen, and contacted their parents to hold a meeting. In the student apartment, dormitory administrators patiently and carefully handled the formalities for the freshmen and arranged them to move into the dormitory. There was also a rest area for parents on the scene, offered with herbal tea so that the freshmen and their parents would feel at home. Welcome banners, creative placards and posters, photographic background walls, etc. were seen everywhere. Radios were broadcasting welcome speech and warm tips, cartoon mascot dolls walked in the crowd to create a warm and happy welcome atmosphere.

To better serve the students and their parents, HUTB also specially arranged six buses to pick up them from Wangchengpo metro station (West Bus Station) to the north and south campuses. Reception staff and student volunteers provided guidance, measured body temperature and carried luggage for them at the station. Temporary vehicles were available in the north and south campuses for travelling back and forth.

After registration, the freshmen and their families looked around the campus and took photos in front of the landmark buildings, scenic spots and culture walls to capture the joyful moment. In HUTB, undergraduate class of 2025 will step into a new stage of learning and embark on a new journey to realize their new dreams.
