On the afternoon of September 13, He Qinghua, Chairman and Chief Expert of Sunward Equipment Group (Sunward), paid a visit to HUTB. Chen Xiaohong, HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Liu Guoquan and Yi Mianyang, Vice Presidents, attended the meeting. Heads of relevant departments of Sunward and leaders of relevant functional departments and secondary schools of HUTB were also present. The meeting was held in Conference Room 206, Technology Building, chaired by Vice President Liu Guoquan.
At the meeting, Chen Xiaohong extended a warm welcome to He Qinghua and his delegation. She introduced HUTB's educational philosophy of "new engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses" integrated with science courses. At present, HUTB has built a balanced layout of schools and disciplines, and become a genuine comprehensive university. In recent years, its comprehensive strength is constantly enhancing, scientific research continues to break through, enrollment quality is steadily improving and talent training has distinctive characteristics. Through the industry-education-research cooperation, numerous interdisciplinary talents have been cultivated, contributing to the implementation of "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" strategy in Hunan province. She said that Sunward is an excellent enterprise, which occupies a very important position in the equipment manufacturing field in China. HUTB and Sunward have very broad prospects for cooperation. It's hoped that two sides would continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation to promote mutual development.
He Qinghua expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chen Xiaohong for her warm reception. He introduced the restructuring and listing history of Sunward and its strategic positioning of "one point, three lines" and "one body, two wings", that is, focusing on the equipment manufacturing industry and comprehensively developing in engineering equipment, special equipment and aviation equipment sectors; with Hunan and Guangdong as two strategic areas, constantly launching products with world influence. He also talked about General Secretary Xi Jinping's rainy visit to Sunward on September 17, 2020, where he inspected the production lines and products, learned about Sunward's technology R&D, manufacturing, sales and operation, and pointed that "innovation is the most important quality of enterprise, and it is also what we must do in the future". He Qinghua fully affirmed HUTB's educational philosophy, ideas, orientation and objectives, believed that Sunward and HUTB have very broad prospects for strategic cooperation, and hoped that two sides could promote mutual cooperation a.s.a.p. and achieve fruitful results.
The participants exchanged views on technological innovation, project management, talent training, scientific research innovation, flexible talent introduction, business training and brand promotion, etc., and reached consensus on further deepening the strategic cooperation.
Subsequently, under the witness of present leaders, Zhu Jianxin, Vice General Manager of Sunward, and Yi Mianyang, Vice President of HUTB, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides.
After the meeting, He Qinghua and his delegation visited the National Center for Basic Science, Provincial Key Laboratory and Engineering Research Center, Chufeng Academy in Economic Management Complex, Sports Center, Book Restaurant in Lingnan Campus, Creativity Gallery, Maker Factory, Creative Art Studio and Buduotang Art Gallery, etc., and highly praised HUTB's achievements in scientific research, platform construction, discipline construction, talent training, campus construction, cultural development, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
