Team Led by Chief Leader Conducts Inspection Tour to Dormitory Renovation during Summer Holiday and Preparatory Work for Opening of University

On the morning of August 27, a team of the heads of the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, the Capital Construction Division, the Logistics Service Division, the Assets Management Division, the Student Affairs Division, the Academic Affairs Division, the Security Division, the North Campus Management Committee and the School of International Business, led by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and Academician, President Huang Xin, Vice President Yang Liangqi, Vice President Gan Dejian, and Senior Professor Wang Minggao, conducted an inspection tour to the renovation of student dormitory during summer holiday, and enjoined relevant personnel to conduct preparatory work for opening of the university.

The leadership successively inspected Nanya student dormitory, Lingnan student dormitory, Building 23 student dormitory and student dormitory of the School of International Business, and praised the quality and progress of construction. Wherever Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and Academician, went, she had a cordial discussion with responsible person and construction personnel, asked them for details of construction, and proposes rectification requirements, such as “pay attention to environment monitoring, and purification and dehumidification of indoor air”, “install guardrail and screen window here, and ensure safety”, “install supporting greening facilities as soon as possible”, and “provide slip resistance mat here to prevent rain accumulation”.

Secretary Chen said that dormitory is an important venue for students to live and study. She enjoined relevant personnel to adhere to the people-centered concept, care about students, take into account the demands and habits of students, and strengthen the awareness of high quality in design, construction, management and service, and create reliable and comfortable living conditions for students.

Secretary Chen requested relevant departments to make preparatory work for new semester, further implement the requirements of the preparatory work proposal for new semester, strengthen epidemic prevention and control, safety and stability, ensure that campus environment is beautiful, green, bright and clean, and strive to introduce teachers and students to a new campus that is safe, clean, elegant, fashionable and culturally advanced at the university opening ceremony.
