Teachers and Students of HUTB Live up to their Responsibility for Epidemic Prevention and Control

Since the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Party Committee of HUTB has acted quickly and made careful arrangements. The teachers and students of the whole university have responded positively, and all the staff have joined forces to fight against the epidemic in the sweltering heat, resolutely prevent the epidemic from spreading to the campus, and earnestly safeguard the safety and stability of the campus.
Deployment - epidemic prevention and control is the top priority at present
Epidemic is an order, and prevention and control is a responsibility. According to the spirit of the higher authorities, the Party Committee of HUTB shall conduct the deployment and arrangement of epidemic prevention and control at the first time, and make good moves to win the initiative.
On the morning of July 29, Department of Education of Hunan Province issued the Emergency Notice on Further Strengthening COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Schools. On the afternoon of July 29, HUTB held a conference on COVID-19 prevention and control. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician emphasized at the meeting that epidemic prevention and control is the top priority at present, shall be highly valued, and we shall mobilize quickly and act immediately. According to the requirements of higher-level epidemic prevention and control, epidemic prevention and control measures in the campus shall be upgraded with the tasks decomposed and implemented at different levels, and specific work requirements shall be put forward for all aspects and links of epidemic prevention and control.
Subsequently, HUTB held several special conferences on epidemic prevention and control to analyze and scientifically respond to the latest situation and requirements of epidemic prevention and control, and issued three working notices respectively on July 29, August 2 and August 3 to comprehensively promote the epidemic prevention and control of HUTB. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician went deep into the front line of epidemic prevention and control for many times, and the leaders with specific duties conduct the follow-up and guidance work for the contacted secondary organizations through online meetings or offline exchanges.
According to the requirements of higher authorities, HUTB will manage the campus in a closed way at the first time, and cancel all kinds of offline learning, training and other teacher-student gathering activities in the campus, strengthen the work supervision and inspection, set up an inspection team headed by the Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission to supervise and inspect the epidemic prevention and control, and implement the strict system of faculty and staff going out for leave according to the principle of "the one who approves shall be responsible". HUTB also donated RMB200,000 to Zhangjiajie and Guzhang County of Xiangxi Prefecture to help fight the epidemic.
Implementation – Weave a dense prevention and control net
The key to fighting against the epidemic lies in the implementation. Under the strong leadership of the Party Committee of HUTB, all departments have implemented various decision-making arrangements in the whole chain, in all directions and in all fields to ensure that no loophole, dead end or blind spot are left, and tightly woven the epidemic prevention and control net.
As the leading department of HUTB epidemic prevention and control, Logistics Management service Center conducts the coordination and response well, seriously organizes the special investigations, adheres to the "daily report" and "zero report" system, coordinates the Personnel Division, Student Affairs Division, Party B's organizations serving in campus, faculty residential property companies and other organizations to collect, sort out and submit relevant information in time according to their respective division of labor, keeps close contact with communities, streets, district prevention command center, obtains the support, disinfects the conference rooms, guard rooms, elevators, etc. regularly, configures the disinfectant, hand sanitizer and other prevention and control supplies, sets up temporary health monitoring sites for students, and deals with abnormal situations in strict accordance with procedures.
Medical and Health Center pays close attention to the health status of students staying in campus. All the staff are on duty 24 hours a day, checking key personnel, contacting community prevention and control personnel, answering the consultation on prevention and control measures of the faculty and students, and carrying out nucleic acid detection for more than 4,000 people on campus to ensure no risk at all. All members of the Security Division are on duty in the front line, and together with the property company, they measure body temperature, check the "double codes", eliminate dangerous situations, guard the "first line of defense" for campus safety in the sweltering heat, and build a solid safety barrier of campus. According to the unified requirements of HUTB, Student Affairs Division, Personnel Division, Academic Affairs Division, Graduate School, Library, Student Dormitory Management & Service Center, Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and other departments properly submit the information, maintain the order, carry out publicity activity and handle the emergencies, etc. Capital Construction Division, Assets Management Division and other departments undertaking the summer construction tasks check the "double codes" of workers every day so as to ensure the absolute safety of epidemic prevention and control net on campus while promoting the progress of project.
With the cooperation of various departments and the joint efforts of teachers and students of HUTB, the dining in the canteen, the study in the classroom and the access of dormitory are well-regulated. Strict epidemic prevention and control net not only ensures the normal life of teachers and students staying in campus during holidays, but also lays a good foundation for all the works after holidays.
Charge - Every Party member is a flag
Where the difficulties lie, the Party members are there. At the critical stage of epidemic prevention and control, the majority of Party members responded to orders and charged ahead, so that the Party flag could fly high in the front line of epidemic prevention and control.
Liu Guoxi, a doctor in the Medical and Health Center, has been on duty 24 hours a day since August 1, and is often busy until late at night. Dr. Wang Jian overcame the difficulty of unattended children at home, and devoted himself to his work without going home for three days in a line. Dr. Xia Xiaoxia took the lead in the early stage of outbreak, and properly adjust the flow. Dr. Ding Wen properly conducts the coordination and sticks to the post every day.
Six Party members in the catering center of Logistics Management Service Center are on duty in the canteen every day to maintain the dining order and ensure that all protective measures are implemented in place. Wu Qiong from the office of Logistics Management Service Center didn't rest during the whole holiday, and responded to more than 100 consultation messages every day during the peak period. All the Party members of Security Division canceled the summer vacation since July 29th, and 23 employees rushed to the front line for duty, working an average of more than 14 hours a day. Inspired by them, 17 volunteers from the Peace Pioneer assumed the responsibility, and participated in the security duty at school gate, which became a beautiful landscape in the front line of campus epidemic prevention and control.
Zhao Jue and Zhao Zhixue, teachers from the School of Computer Science & Information Engineering worked hard to set up a college student detachment of HUTB of voluntary blood donation service team of Hunan Red Cross Society, and donated epidemic prevention materials with a total value of RMB70,980 to HUTB for epidemic prevention and control in summer. The faculty and staff of School of Business Administration donated more than RMB5,000 to purchase epidemic prevention materials to serve the students, faculty and teachers on duty.
Meanwhile, the Youth League Committee actively responded to the call, organized young volunteers to participate in joint epidemic prevention and control orderly, and contributed youthful strength to the construction of people's defense line for epidemic prevention and control. For example, Chen Chi of Telecom 1802, Gu Wenjian of Environmental Design 1906, Peng Xinhui of Trade and Economics 2001, Li Zhuoman of information Science 2001, Zhang Yuan of Travel Management 1903, Chen Chi of Telecom 1802 and many other students actively participated in the front line of local epidemic prevention and control and played an important role.
