NNSFC“Theory of Resources and Environment Management for Digital Economy Era and Its Application” Basic Science Center Research Team Academic Seminar Held in HUTB

On July 22, the National Natural Science Foundation of China “Theory of Resources and Environment Management for Digital Economy Era and Its Application” basic science center research team academic seminar, hosted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and co-organized by HUTB and Central South University, was held in the F3 Lecture Hall of Lingnan Innovation Center of the university. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB, Honorary Dean of the Business School of Central South University and Director of the National Center for Basic Science, and Vice President Yi Mianyang attended the seminar. The seminar was attended by more than 200 experts and scholars from member units of the center such as Central South University, National University of Defense Technology, Hunan University and HUTB, including Professor Jiang Tao, Professor Li Xibing, Professor Yang Chunhua, Professor Zhao Zhongwei and Professor Liu Jianxin. The seminar was presided over by Vice President Yi Mianyang.

 


Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered opening remarks. She said that as Hunan province’s first National Basic Science Center, the “Theory of Resources and Environment Management for Digital Economy Era and Its Application” National Basic Science Center has, since its establishment, held multiple academic seminars of differing scale, which effectively promotes interdisciplinary integration and achieves substantial progress. On July 19, Li Keqiang, Member of Standing Committee of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Premier of State Council, paid an inspection visit to the National Natural Science Foundation of China, during which he stressed the importance of National Basic Science Center. She said that the “Theory of Resources and Environment Management for Digital Economy Era and Its Application” National Basic Science Center, as the largest funding program and sole platform project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, should assume the historical responsibility of conducting basic research and yielding original achievements, and promote high level of interdisciplinary integration. She expressed the hope that teams from member units of the center should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, achieve interdisciplinary integration, and strive to yield a number of high-standard interdisciplinary integration achievements.

 

During academic exchanges, 14 experts and scholars, namely Professor Tan Jingqiang, Professor Jiang Tao, Professor Zhao Zhongwei, Associate Professor Zhou Jian, Associate Professor Huang Linqi, Associate Professor Wang Wei, Professor Hu Dongbin, Associate Professor Wang Hou, Associate Professor Liu Qi, Associate Professor Wang Yangjie, Doctor Yang Zhanmei, Associate Professor Zhou Xiaojun, Professor Lyu Xin and Professor Xu Xuesong, successively delivered academic reports on behalf of respective teams, i.e. ”Important Progress in Research on Shale Reservoir Reconstruction and Its Environmental Impact”, ”Discussion on Carbon-reduction Technology in Iron Industry”, ”New Process of Atmospheric Acid Decomposition of Low Ice Nickel”, ”Big Data Mining Method for Typical Mine Disaster Pre-warning”, ”Practice and Exploration of Sustainable Development of Future Nonferrous Metal Mining”, ”Resources and Environmental Change Remote Sensing and Big Data Spatial-temporal Analysis”, ”Forecast of Process of Having CO2 Emissions Peak and Achieving Carbon Neutrality Based on Remote Sensing Data and General Equilibrium Framework”, ”Photochemical Treatment of New Pollutants in Ecological Water Environment by Digital Technology Guidance and Recycling of Hydrogen Energy Resources in Sewage”, ”Forecasting and Guidance of Performance of Absorbing/Separating Materials of CO2 and Other Gases by Artificial Intelligence ”, ”Urbanization and Carbon Neutrality”, ”Research on Influence of Soil Temperature in Central Asia on Summer Climate in East Asia and Its Mechanism”, ”Intelligent Optimization Decision-making of Process Industry”, ”Continuous Anomaly Monitoring Based on Meteorological Big Data: Model and Application”, and “Energy and Environmental Digital and Intelligent Management Technology and Platform Application”, and shared latest research outcomes and future research ideas.

 

The experts and scholars participating in the seminar conducted exchanges and discussions around the academic reports, and put forward proposals and suggestions on further promoting interdisciplinary integration.

 


Academician Chen Xiaohong summed up the academic seminar. She said that 14 experts and scholars delivering the academic reports introduced the preliminary research outcomes and future research ideas of respective teams, and that the experts and scholars participating in the seminar conducted high-quality and fruitful exchanges and discussions on relevant issues. She stressed that teams of the center should further implement interdisciplinary integration, make full use of the National Basic Science Center’s advantages as China’s sole research platform combining resources and environment with intelligent management, and make new contributions to theoretical framework, theoretical method, platform construction and demonstration application. In the new era of digitization, data, intelligent and network, she said, all the teams should actively build “digital brain” in the field of resources and environment, converge a large amount of effective data, build better platform for data use, development and utilization, strive to establish an original theoretical system, and provide more strong support for digital economy development and intelligent management decision-making. She expressed the hope that all the teams should carry out substantive cooperation, further strengthen interdisciplinary integration, foster the awareness of overall situation and team, and jointly contribute to more high-standard, original and excellent achievements.
