HUTB Holds Seminar for Academician, Secretaries and Instructors

On the afternoon of July 15, the university held a seminar for academician, secretary and instructors in the Conference Room 206 in the Technology Building. Chen Xiaohong, Secretary and CAE Academician, and Gan Dejian, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, attended the seminar. The head and officials of the Party Committee Student Affairs Department, vice party secretaries of secondaryschools, director of the Student Affairs Office and excellent instructor representatives participated in the seminar. The seminar was chaired by Vice President Gan Dejian.
The instructor representatives joining the seminar conducted exchanges and shared their experience in topics such as ideological education, management service, team building, family-university joint building, emergency handling and quality improvement. The instructor representatives said that under the strong leadership of the Party Committee with Chen Xiaohong, Secretary and CAE Academician, acting as the leader, the university achieves high-quality, leapfrog development, with the instructors becoming more confident, effective and ambitious. In the meanwhile, the instructor representatives expressed the determination to earnestly perform their duties as instructors in accordance with the instructions of the Party Committee, so as to contribute to realizing the goal of “Three Progress, Three Highlands” and building an innovation-oriented, top-class university of technology and business with distinctive characteristics.
Chen Xiaohong, Secretary and CAE Academician, said that instructors are the major force in implementing the requirements of the Central Committee, the Party Committee of Hunan province and the Party Committee of the university with respect to the important work of moral education, ideological and political education, and cultural progress. As the tutor and friend closest to the students in the front line, she said, the instructors’ quality and competence have direct impact on the ideological level and moral quality of students. She praised the instructors for their selfless dedication to student cultivation and education and great contributions to talent training.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong stressed that with the rapid development of the university and the improvement of student quality, the ideological status of students has undergone a significant change, which poses new challenges to the work of instructors. She put forward four requirements for the work of instructors under new circumstances: first, the instructors should be politically reliable and of good morality, focus on fostering patriotism among students, enhance ideological work ability, and influence students with reliable political literacy and noble personality; second, the instructors should strengthen study and improve competence, gain a deep understanding of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a ceremony marking the centenary of the CPC, study the history of CPC, the history of the People’s Republic ofChina, the history of reform and opening up and the history of socialist development, read more high-quality books, strengthen political study, theoretical study and business study, enhance political judgment, comprehension and execution, foster a good teaching style, and come up with science-based and effective working methods; third, the instructors should demonstrate patriotic feeling, perform their duties with high level of professional dedication, eliminate the difficulty and anxiety students face in their life and study, facilitate the growth of students with wholehearted dedication, and encourage students to build a healthy and positive inner world; fourth, the instructors should earnestly implement the instructions of the first CPC Representative Conference of HUTB, make progress in study style in accordance with the principle of “Establish Better WorkStyle, Change Study Style, Improve Quality and Seek Innovation”, comprehensively foster the students’ all-round moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit to prepare them to join the socialist cause, and cultivate excellent talents with global vision, patriotic feeling, professional quality and benevolent spirit.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong said that the Party Committee attaches high importance to the building of instructor team, and will continue to build development platform, make promotion channels unobstructed and improve remuneration for instructors, so as to further promote the professional and vocational development of instructor team.
At last, Tang Xiaoqin, Director of the Party Committee Student Affairs Department, delivered a speech on implementing the instructions made by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary and CAE Academician, on behalf of instructors. He said that the Party Committee Student Affairs Department will work with all the instructors to make every effort to implement the requirements of the Party Committee, so as to present new outlook, demonstrate new responsibility and write new chapter in the work of instructors.
