HUTB Holds Commendation Conference and Variety Show to Celebrate the Centenary of CPC

On the evening of June 27, HUTB held a commendation conference and variety show in the Lecture Hall of Economic Management Complex to celebrate the centenary of CPC, attended by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Huang Xin, Vice Party Secretary and President, Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Party Secretary, and other chief leaders, members of the Party committee, senior professors and some former chief leaders. Deng Dongyuan, National Class-I Composer and Chairman of Hunan Musicians Association, Xiao Ming, National Class-I Conductor, Music Director and Chief Conductor of Changsha Symphony Orchestra, Yu Yuelong, Party Secretary of School of Architecture and Art, Central South University, Liu Jianhui, National Class-I Composer, and other experts and special guests of HUTB participated in the performance. Representatives of senior Party members who have been members for 50 years or more, Party members and cadres at or above the section level, Party branch secretary and representatives of teacher and student Party members, were present.
Prior to the conference, all rose to sing the National Anthem. Under the conduct of Professor Xiao Ming, our college symphony orchestra and chorus played and sang the songs No New China Without the Communist Party, and Stay True to the Mission, played the songs, My Motherland, Red Detachment of Women, and Good News from Beijing Reaches the Frontier. The conference was officially opened in the pleasant, impassioned and jubilant music.
At the commendation conference, Chen Xiaohong awarded the commemorative medals to Lei Houjian, Luo Guiting, Liu Niansheng, Tang Debin, Gao Yixing, Jiang Zhengfu, Yi Changgui, Wu Guliang, Zhong Tengxian and Rong Guojun totaling 10 representatives of those who have been Party members for 50 years or more. Huang Xin awarded the certificates and medals to Shi Biao, Zhao Xinyu, Xu Minlan, Xie Wen, Chao Jinwen, Zhang Jian, Chen Yanli, Cao Yifen, Wang Jingtong and Yan Caiyu totaling 10 representatives of Party members and grassroots Party organizations that have won provincial and above honors in the past three years. Xiao Xiaoqin awarded the certificates and medals to Liu Yiwen, Wang Juan, Fu Zhengzheng, Ge Xinhui, Li Danqing and Qi Chong totaling 6 representatives of university-level excellent Party members, excellent Party workers and advanced grass-roots Party organizations.
Chen Xiaohong led all the teacher and student Party members to review the admission oath and made a speech. She pointed out that CPC has traveled a glorious journey over 100 years of struggle since its founding in 1921. Over the past 100 years, CPC has united with and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in blazing a trail of socialism with Chinese characteristics and opening up unprecedented bright prospects for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. After 100 years of development, our Party has grown into the world's largest party with more than 90 million members and become the firm leading core for the Chinese people in pioneering new causes. Since the 19th CPC National Congress, the new central leadership has been constantly improving the governance strategy and making great efforts to advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Chen said that the Party's leadership is indispensable to the country's strength and national rejuvenation, as well as to the construction and development of the university. By comprehensively strengthening the leadership of the Party, our Party construction and ideological and political work has ushered in a new chapter. We commemorate the history so as to move forward more firmly, and look back on yesterday so as to create a better future!
Chen stressed that to embark on a new journey, we must comprehensively strengthen the Party's leadership over the work of university, fully implement the spirit of the first Party Congress of HUTB and give play to the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members and cadres. She called on all teacher and student Party members to hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, unswervingly follow the Party, stay true to the original aspiration, keep the mission firmly in mind and forge ahead to jointly write a splendid chapter in building a distinctive, innovative first-class university of technology and business, realize the great dream of rejuvenating the Chinese nation, and make new achievements worthy of the Party, the people and the Times!
The variety show is divided into three parts, namely "glorious history", "loyal to Party", and "century-long glories". Young singers Qiu Taowu, Li Chen, Li Ming, Huang Liyuan, Huang Minjia and Wu Jun sang the songs, Devote Everything to the Party, I Love China, Festival Songs, The Song of Yangtze River, Country, I Love You, China, and Ode to the Yellow River, respectively. Class-I Anchor Liu Qia recited the modern poem, Touch the Motherland on a Chip, Violet Choir of Central South University and Dance Troupe of School of Architecture and Art performed the song Sing a Folk Song to the Party and the dance Half of the Quilt, respectively. Our teachers and students sang the songs, Love of the Republic, Party, Dear Mother, I Am Happy, I Was Born in China, China in the Light, and Sunny Road, and recited the modern poems, China in the Moonlight and Drumbeat. Wonderful performances had aroused the love for the Party, for the country and for socialism, expressed the deep feelings of the younger generation towards the Party and the country, reflected the deep emotional bond between the communists and the people, and praised the prosperity of our motherland, which further strengthened the ideal and conviction of the communist to put the people first and stay true to the original aspiration and the founding mission.
Liu Niansheng, an 81-year-old Party member who won the medal for being a Party member for 50 years or above, shared his glorious life in the interview with senior Party members. He talked about his original aspiration to join CPC more than 60 years ago and was deeply impressed by the difference between old society and new society. Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people overthrew the three mountains and built a new China full of hope. He stressed that there would be no new China if there was no CPC, and communists should work for the Party and for the people. He urged young Party members to stand firm in their ideals and convictions, take a clear political stand and devote their lives to the Party's cause, thereby contribute to realizing the great dream of rejuvenating the Chinese nation.
Finally, all teacher and student Party members sang in chorus the Song of Hunan University of Technology and Business, Young Friends Get Together, and Ode to the Motherland. The conference came to a successful end in an enthusiastic and exciting atmosphere.
