HUTB Students Achieve Good Results in 12th Lan Qiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Talent Competition

On June 5, the 12thLan Qiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Talent Competition was successfully concluded. HUTB delegation, under the guidance of teacher Tan Ping from the School of Intelligent Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing and teachers Nie Ding and Zhang Sheng from the School of Computer Science & Information Engineering, won 1 second prize and 1 winner’s prize in the national competition and 2 first prizes, 9 second prizes and 7 third prizes in the provincial competition.
The 12thLan Qiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Talent Competition is made up of provincial competitions and national final competition, including 7 contest subjects. The electronic competition includes 4 subjects, that is “design and development of single-chip computer”, “embedded design and development”, “IoT design and development” and “EDA design and development”. The software competition includes 3 subjects, that is “C/C++ programming”, “JAVA software development” and “Python programming”. These contest subjects provide a systematic and comprehensive assessment of the technical level of students in computer technology, electronic information technology and other relevant disciplines.
The provincial competitions held on April 18 attracted more than 75,000 contestants from more than 1300 colleges, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. First prize winners in the competitions gain the qualification for the national final competition. With excellent professional knowledge and skills, HUTB students Cao Huiyang and Wang Zhixiang gained the qualification for the national final competition, and won the second prize and the winner’s prize in the categories of “embedded design and development” and “C/C++ programming group B” respectively.
It is learned that Lan Qiao Cup is one of the largest and most professional IT contests in China. Since its establishment 10 year ago, it has attracted more than 200,000 students from more than 1300 colleges, including Peking University and Tsinghua University, and the participation of such well-known enterprises as IBM and Baidu, gaining recognition in the industry. The competition has played an active role in promoting the growth of young innovators and deepening college quality education, and become a cradle for Chinese colleges to nurture excellent IT professionals.
