On the afternoon of May 24, Professor Yang Yu of Central South University gave the second lecture of the Forum of "HUTB of Humanity" of Lushan Lecture, themed by "How Deep is the Love - Random Talk on Appreciation of Classical Poetry", which brought a feast of reading sharing, aesthetic edification and spiritual enlightenment to teachers and students. The lecture was held in the Lecture Hall, Economic Management Complex, presided over by Vice President Yang Liangqi, and attended by the representatives of teachers and students.

Before the lecture, Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary-General and CAE Academician, met with Professor Yang Yu cordially, welcomed and thanked her for giving lectures in HUTB, and spoke highly of Professor Yang's fruitful achievements in the field of ancient poetry research. Secretary Chen Xiaohong said that it is of great significance to tell poetry stories well and spread Chinese traditional culture. She hoped that through Professor Yang's lectures, HUTB students would fall in love with ancient poetry and Chinese excellent traditional culture, and enhance their temperament, accumulate connotation and cultivate their feelings of home and country by learning ancient poetry.

"When I left here, willows shed tear. Now let me think, it is raining and snowing." At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Yang Yu quoted a poem from the Book of Songs·Minor odes of the kingdom·Picking Osmund to introduce his name, and the scene instantly was lingered with poetic atmosphere. Later, she raised three questions: "How did poetry and poets come into being?", "How do we appreciate poetry?", "Why do we still need poetry?" She believes that ancient poetry contains the knowledge about the astronomy, geography, history, medicine and others. With its refined language, rich imagination and sincere emotion, the poetry has become a beautiful scenery in the history of Chinese culture and has been sung through the ages. The most important basic element of a poet is faithfulness, that is, faithfulness to the original meaning of people, things and things. Time has changed dramatically, and the loyalty of human nature provides the only channel to travel through time and space. Only when people feel life with sincerity can they resonate with the ancients at the same frequency, return to poetry and hear the initial heart in ordinary life. Poetry is not in the profession of "poet", nor in the old paper piles of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is around everyone, and the beauty of ancient poetry is everywhere in everyone's life. She also shared three ways to read poems: memorize and sing, know people and discuss the world, and turn one's mind against one's will. She pointed out that dialects can better restore the charm of poetry, and sang Silent Night Thinkingin Cantonese on the spot. The homesickness escaping from poetry, accompanied by cadence and melody, made teachers and students feel the elegance of classical poetry.
After the lecture, Professor Yang Yu participated in the reading sharing meeting of "Let's Read Poems Together" and 2ndSharing Session of Reading Season "Read Classic Books and Understand Life Philosophy". She read poems on the spot and gave guidance to the students. Professor Yang, with his unique cultural charm, has led everyone to appreciate the beauty of ancient poetry, stimulated teachers and students' love for ancient poetry, improved everyone's national cultural confidence and pride, and enhanced the humanistic atmosphere on campus.
