First Party Congress of HUTB Successfully Closed

Concentrate on development, open a new situation. On the afternoon of May 21, the first Party congress of HUTB was successfully closed in the Yincai Lecture Hall, Library of HUTB with various agendas smoothly completed, attended by the leaders of Party and government of HUTB and all the Party representatives and presided over by Comrade Huang Xin.

The congress has voted to pass the Election Method for the First Party Congress of HUTBand the chief scrutineer and the list of scrutineers for the formal election, and announced the list of poll-clerks.

First Party Committee of HUTB composed of 9 members was elected in the congress by secret ballot: Gan Dejian, Liu Guoquan, Yang Liangqi, Xiao Xiaoqin, He Longde, Chen Ming, Chen Xiaohong, Yi Mianyang and Huang Xin (sorted by surname strokes); the first Discipline Inspection Commission of HUTB composed of 7 members was elected: Qiu Gaosong, He Longde, Chen Haijun, Hu San, Hu Yanxiang, Peng Xuewen and Ge Xinhui (sorted by surname strokes).

The congress has voted to pass the Resolution of the First Party Congress of HUTB on the Work Report of Party Committeeand the Resolution of the First Party Congress of HUTB on the Work Report of Discipline Inspection Commission.

Comrade Chen Xiaohong delivered a closing speech. She pointed out that this congress is a very important conference held at a critical period when the CPC is celebrating its 100th anniversaryunder the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China is starting a new journey of building a modern socialist country, and HUTB continues to strive to achieve a new leap in history. The congress has reviewed and approved the work report of the Party Committee and the work report of the Discipline Inspection Commission, comprehensively summarized the achievements and experiences in terms of the Party building and career development since the fourth congress of HUTB, and fully affirmed the work of the previous Party Committee and the Discipline Inspection Commission; the congress objectively analyzed the opportunities and challenges facing the HUTB in the future, established the development goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highs" and issued a call to strive to build an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive features; the congress defined the main tasks for the development in the next five years and put forward a series of important measures to implement the "seven major projects". During the congress, the delegates put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions on the development of HUTB as the master; with a highly responsible attitude, the members of new Party Committee and Discipline Inspection Commission were elected, providing a strong political and organizational guarantee for the development of HUTB.

Comrade Chen Xiaohong stressed that this congress is a democratic, centralized and upright conference, and it is a conference that gathers strength and inspires people to forge ahead. The successful convening of this congress sounded the clarion call for HUTB to base itself on a new starting point, embark on a new journey and realize a new leap forward. Implementing the spirit of the first party congress of HUTB is the primary task of HUTB. After the closing of the conference, Party organizations at all levels in HUTB shall quickly organize the majority of Party members, cadres, teachers, students and employees to earnestly study and understand the spirit of the congress, and unify their thoughts and understanding into the decision-making and deployment of the congress. It is hoped that representatives from all levels of HUTB actively play an exemplary and leading role and take the lead in learning and implementing the spirit of the Party Congress; It is hoped that all units and departments will closely combine with the actual work and take effective measures to ensure that the spirit of the Party Congress is implemented, show good elegant demeanour and see gratifying achievements.

Comrade Chen Xiaohong called on all Party members, teachers and students of HUTB not to forget the initiative minds, and to remember the mission, and hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and under the strong leadership of the new Party Committee of HUTB, we will unite as one, inspire our spirit, forge ahead, fully realize the goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highs", strive to achieve a new leap in history, and jointly write a magnificent chapter in the construction of an innovative first-class technology and business university with distinctive characteristics.

The congress was successfully closed in the magnificent song of Internationale.

After the congress, the first Discipline Inspection Commission of HUTB held its first session where Comrade He Longde was elected as the Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Comrade Chen Haijun as Deputy Secretary. Subsequently, the first Party Committee of HUTB held its first session where Comrade Chen Xiaohong was elected as Party Secretary, and Comrade Huang Xin and Xiao Xiaoqin as ViceParty Secretaries, and the election results of the first session of first Discipline Inspection Commission were passed.
