HUTB Holds Construction Demonstration Meeting for Medical and Health Center

On May 18, HUTB held a construction demonstration meeting for medical and health center at Conference Room 1211 in the Economic Management Complex. The meeting was attached by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB and CAE Academician, Xiao Xiaoqin, Vice Party Secretary of HUTB, and Yi Mianyang, Vice President of HUTB. Dong Erdan, professor of Peking University and CAE Academician, Chen Xiang, Vice President of Central South University, Liu Zhongmin, Director of Shanghai East Hospital, Xiong Hui, Vice President of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, Zhang Guogang, Director of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, and Zhou Jianda, professor of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, attended the meeting off-line or on-line as special demonstration experts. Heads of such functional departments as the the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, the Personnel Division, the Logistics Service Division, the Department of Physical Education and Research, the Finance Division, the Assets Management Division, the Capital Construction Division, the Labour Union, the School of Continuing Education, and the Student Affairs Division participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, Shen Haixiang, Director of the Logistics Service Division reported on the preliminary plan for the medical and health reform of the university in terms of 7 aspects, that is overall objective of construction, basic content of construction, existing conditions and gaps, thoughts on construction work, construction schedule, total investment estimate, and comprehensive benefit analysis.
The participating demonstration experts provided professional guidance on the issues of construction positioning, thought and long-term planning of the HUTB medical and health center, the construction of medical system and the planning of service content, building of medical team, integration, sharing and intelligent construction of medical resources, sewage disposal, circuit transformation and fire safety of medical site, and construction of disciplines and specialized areas of study. They also expressed the willingness to carry out cooperation with HUTB in medical service and disciplinary development, so as to promote the health and happiness of teachers and students.
Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB and CAE Academician, thanked the demonstration experts for their valuable opinions and suggestions. She pointed out that the initial target of the HUTB medical and health center is to build a community health service center, and its short-term goal is to build an upper third-class hospital; the primary function of the center is to treat chronic diseases, and serve the teachers and students; the center will combine health care with big data and AI to enable management, promote inter-disciplinary integration, cultivate inter-disciplinary talents, and build an in-house base for internship and practical training. She requested the university to establish a working group on medical and health center construction at an early date, work with Xiangya Hospital and Hunan University of Chinese Medicine to establish strategic cooperation mechanisms such as “green channel for two-way referral” and “health improvement plan”, initiate the work of site construction, equipment procurement and recruitment, complete the construction of the center and put it into use in 2021, further enhance the sense of happiness among teachers and students, and provide strong medical service support for the health, study, work and life of teachers and students.
Upon conclusion of the meeting, the participating demonstration experts and heads of relevant functional departments had an in-depth exchange of views on such subjects as application for construction, transformation of medical site, and sewage disposal, and expressed the willingness to offer professional support if the construction of medical and health center requests so.
