HUTB Organizes Immunization of Teachers and Students

From May 11 to 13, in accordance with the superior department’s arrangements concerning inoculation of COVID-19 vaccine, HUTB organized immunization of teachers and students. Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB and CAE Academician, and Yi Mianyang, Vice President of HUTB, inspected the work of immunization.

Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB and CAE Academician, expressed her sincere sympathy to medical workers, student volunteers, management personnel, and teachers and students who signed up for immunization, extended greetings to nurses as May 12 was the International Nurse Day, and acclaimed the elaborate organization, careful arrangement and orderly conduct of immunization. She pointed out that the current situation of epidemic prevention and control worldwide is still severe, with the emergence of new variants of virus. She called on the university to continue with regular epidemic prevention and control, prevent the importation of COVID-19 cases, mobilize teachers and students to receive immunization, and earnestly safeguard the health and safety of teachers and students. She requested relevant responsible unit to accelerate the construction and planning of a campus medical and health center, start construction at an early date, and provide teachers and students with high-standard medical and health service environment and conditions.

It is learned that more than 24000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered, and that the second dose will be administered 21-56 days later. Following the principle “vaccination is free of charge, and all people eligible for vaccination should have access to it”, the university organized teachers and students to receive vaccination, establish a barrier of herd immunity, block the spread of COVID-19, and consolidate the results of epidemic prevention and control. Following the call, teachers and students actively received vaccination, and expressed gratitude to the Party and the state.
