On the afternoon of May 7, the delegation led by Huang Xiankai, Party Secretary of Beijing Technology and Business University, visited HUTB. The meeting was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician, Vice President Liu Guoquan and the leaders from the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, Academic Affairs Division, Scientific Research Administration Division, School of Business Administration and Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation.
Exchange symposium was held in Conference Room 1211 in Economic Management Complex. At the meeting, Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary and CAE Academician introduced the general idea of professional layout and development of HUTB during the 14th Five-Year Plan, the majors construction direction of promoting the intelligent and digital transformation of traditional majors with emerging information technology, the construction of a high-level scientific research platform represented by the Basic Science Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the successful transformation of Beijin College into Xiangtan Polytechnic University, which has become a benchmark in the province. She also expressed the hope of strengthening the communication and cooperation with Beijing Technology and Business University and establishing an alliance for common development.
Secretary Huang Xiankai introduced the development history, basic conditions, characteristic orientation and advantageous disciplines of Beijing Technology and Business University, and the development direction of majors with the digitalization supporting the traditional majors and the construction of scientific research platform represented by Beijing High-tech Innovation Center. He showed the hope of Secretary Chen Xiaohong exerting the influence and appeal of academician to integrate more superior resources and drive the domestic technology and business universities to achieve better and faster development.
Participants exchanged the development status and problems faced by domestic universities of industry, commerce and finance, and discussed the college setting and discipline construction, talent introduction and team building, scientific research and platform construction, talent training and inter-university cooperation, campus infrastructure construction, etc. Both sides reached a consensus which will further promote the exchanges and cooperation between the technology and business Universities, build a development community of technology and business universities, and make greater contributions to the training of national and regional technology and business talents.
After the meeting, the delegation led by secretary Huang Xiankai also visited the Basic Science Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Laboratory of Hunan Province and the Engineering Research Center, and spoke highly of a series of advanced achievements in scientific research and platform construction of HUTB.
