The 328th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum Co-organized by HUTB Held in Changsha

On April 24, the 328thChina Engineering Science and Technology Forum-High-end Forum on Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Equipment Development with the theme of “Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Empowering” hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and co-organized by Management Department of CAE, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited and HUTB was held in Changsha.
Before the opening ceremony of the forum, Xu Dazhe, Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, met with the academicians and experts attending the high-end forum, including Academician Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB, and hosted the seminar.
26 CAS and CAE members, including Academician Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB, as well as hundreds of experts and leaders attended the forum to discuss intelligent building and intelligent equipment development, so as to contribute to the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and the realization of the goal of building a manufacturing power.
The forum aims to actively explore the integrated development of the intelligent manufacturing industry and new-generation information technologies such as AI, IoT and block chain, and promote the digital, networked and intelligent transformation of the traditional manufacturing industry.

Secretary Wu Guiying said that Changsha is now in the process of implementing the spirit of the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Hunan. She pointed out that under the strong leadership of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Changsha should raise the development coordinate, strengthen the sense of responsibility as the provincial capital, stick to innovation and practical work, and win the battle of upgrading industrial foundation and modernizing industrial chain. She said that the forum conforms to the new positioning and requirement of building “three bases” proposed by President Xi Jinping, as well as the development direction of advanced manufacturing industry in Changsha. She said that Changsha will be dedicated to providing first-class government service, building first-class innovation ecosystem, and fostering first-class business environment. She expressed the hope that all parties involves will leverage their advantages, integrate their demands, and pool their strengths to achieve win-win cooperation in a larger landscape, at a higher level and across a wider range.

Academician He Huawu said that “intelligence” is an important driving force behind the manufacturing and equipment industries. He stressed the need to win the protracted battle of finishing a daunting task, the battle of innovation empowered by digital and intelligent technologies, and the battle of win-win cooperation, and provide a more powerful and higher-quality technological solution for the development of China’s engineering and manufacturing industry.

Wang Jianping said that novel industrialization has become an inevitable choice for China to accelerate the transformation of development mode and build a high-end manufacturing power. With advantages in the whole industrial chain of engineering and manufacturing, China Railway Construction Corporation values scientific innovation and technological progress, and will practice the new development concept, build intelligent equipment, and promote intelligent manufacturing, so as to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The forum is divided in five parts, that is opening ceremony, keynote speech by specially-invited experts, inspection visit, consultation and discussion, and closing ceremony, which were hosted by Academician Wang An, Academician Chen Xiaohong, Academician Ding Lieyun, Academician He Jishan, Academician Sun Yongfu and Academician Lu Chunfang respectively.
