HUTB Holds Seminar with Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town

On April 21, HUTB held a seminar with Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town at Conference Room 206 in the Technology Building. Academician Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB, Liu Guoquan, Vice President of HUTB, Liu Liang, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town and Deputy Secretary of Yuelu District Committee of CPC, Luo Yuwu, Deputy Secretary of Party Working Committee and Director of Management Committee of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town, and Zhou Jianhua, member of Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of Management Committee of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town, attended the seminar. Other attendees include leaders from Party and Government Affairs Department, Department of Achievement Transformation, Department of Technology and Finance and Department of Talent Aggregation, as well as leaders from Party Committee Office and Principal Office, Personnel Division, Academic Affairs Division, Entrepreneurship Education and Practical Teaching Center and School of Economy & Trade of HUTB.
Academician Chen Xiaohong, Party Secretary of HUTB, elaborated the educational positioning, educational characteristics, comprehensive strength and development goal of HUTB, the disciplinary layout with “new engineering courses+new business courses+new liberal arts courses” and science as support, interdisciplinary construction and talent training, scientific research, graduate employment, innovation and entrepreneurship. She expressed the hope that HUTB will deepen industry-education-research cooperation with Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town, and jointly promote the transformation of high-level research achievements, gather high-level research talents, build high-level research platform, and hold high-level research forum.
Secretary Liu Liang introduced the current progress in the construction of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town. He said that Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town will learn from HUTB’s spirit of passion, innovation and forging ahead; fulfill its due responsibility of providing colleges and universities with quality service; introduce differentiated talent policy to better serve high-end talents, including academicians. He expressed the hope that Academician Chen Xiaohong will contribute wisdom and provide strong support for the construction of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town.
Director Luo Yuwu elaborated on the three major working directions of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town: accelerate the construction of research project platform; provide factor support for unimpeded enterprise-university cooperation, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements; provide quality service for colleges and talent innovation and entrepreneurship, especially for high-level talents.
The attendees had in-depth exchange of ideas and discussion on achievement transformation, talent service, innovation and entrepreneurship, top design and the construction of Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town. Both sides reached a consensus on deepening industry-education-research cooperation and jointly promoting new breakthroughs in technological innovation.
After the seminar, the delegated led by Secretary Liu Liang visited the key science and technology laboratory, engineering research center, Chufeng Academy in the Economic Management Complex, sports and fitness center and the innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity park in Lingnan Campus, and spoke highly of the educational achievements made by HUTB.
As an innovation engine to implement the “Three Highlands, Four New Missions” strategy of Hunan Province, Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town is located in the core area of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area--the first national-level new area in Central China, and Chang-Zhu-Tan self-reliant innovation demonstration area. The areasarehome to 7 key universities, 23 national technology innovation platforms, 307 technology innovation platforms at provincial and ministerial level, 22 maker spaces and technology business incubators at municipal level, 32 CAS and CAE members, and 268,000 college students. Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town is the undisputed origin of self-reliant innovation, the base of scientific achievement transformation and the center of high-end talents in Hunan Province.
