[Study and Education of Party’s History] A Symposium&Face-to-Face Communication between Leaders and Students Held in HUTB

On March 30th, asymposium on Learning Party’s History, Understanding Thoughts, Doing Practical Affairs and Paving New Way - Face-to-Face Communication between Leaders and Students was held in Conference Room 206 (main venue) and Conference Room 314 (branch venue) in the Technology Building. Teachers and students exchanged and discussed the content of lecture themed "Learning a century of history of CPC, carrying forward the spirit of innovation and Striving to pave a new way to the innovation-driven development" given by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician. The symposium was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Vice President Zeng Fuqiu, leaders of relevant secondary units and the representatives of undergraduate and graduate students, and was chaired by Vice President Zeng Fuqiu.
At the meeting, the student representatives shared the learning experience and expressed the determination to strengthen the confidence, face the difficulties, inherit the red gene, and persist in the spiritual bloodline in the future study and life, centering on the four aspects of the lecture given by Chen, namely, "persisting in the spiritual bloodline from a century of party history", "enhancing the innovation confidence in historical review", "strengthening the sense of mission of innovation based on a new era," and "facing the future and persist in creating a new perspective”. The students praised the earth-shaking changes that have taken place in HUTB in recent years, and further put forward many good suggestions to HUTB based on the current study life, innovation and entrepreneurship, academic research, subject competition, social practice, graduation employment, campus culture, etc.
The leaders of secondary units participating in the meeting said that they would uphold the purpose of doing practical things and solving problems for teachers and students to solve the problemsand implement thesuggestions raised by the students as soon as possible.
Chen Xiaohong said:“ through this symposium, we can see that the students have a high pattern, good literacy, clear thinking and definite expression, and provide the pertinent suggestions for the development of HUTB, explain the ideals, ambitions and expectations for HUTB based on the perspective of innovative talents and from the points of serving the country and making contribution to the society, and I am proud of the students. With the rapid development of HUTB, the students have shown more and more self-confidence, optimism, civility and politeness. They have established a sense of community to pursue the common development and progress with HUTB, and has become an important factor in promoting the sound and rapid development of HUTB.”
Chen pointed out that the history of the Party and New China is a magnificent history, where the Party and our country have experienced the test of blood and fire with countless revolutionary martyrs sacrificed, and in particular, the Hunan people have made outstanding contributions to the development history of the Party. As the saying goes that one group of Hunan people build half of modern history. She expressed that on the centenary of the founding of the Party, we must conscientiously carry out the study and education of Party history to review the glorious history of the Party, insist on learning the Party’s history to keep reasonable, strengthen the belief, respect the morality and practice diligently, learn the Party’s history to understand the ideas, do practical things, and pave new way, as well as fully implementing the educational policy of the Party, the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education, and the integration into the overall situation of national development and promote the self-reliance of science and technology. The teachers and students of HUTB should contribute the wisdom and strength for our country to become a science and technology power and an economic power as soon as possible and to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Finally, Chen sent a message to the students, hoping that everyone enhances their awareness of innovating and serving the society, and strives to make themselves innovative talents in the new era. She also requested that the relevant secondary units sincerely do practical work for teachers and students, solve problems, comprehensively sort out the suggestions put forward by the students, and hold special work conferences to conduct research, so as to solve the urgent, anxious and hopeful issues of the teachers and students as soon as possible, thus creating better learning, working and living environment and conditions for teachers and students.
