HUTB Holds Special Training on How to Prevent Telecom Fraud

A special training on how to prevent telecom fraud was held in the Conference Room 301 in the No.2 Office Building on the afternoon of March 9, and was attended by Vice President Zeng Fuqiu, the staff from the Student Affairs Division, Security Division, Graduate School, School of Continuing Education, North Campus Management Committee (Beijin College), Student Apartment Management Service and Education Center and the Vice Party Secretary-Generals, instructors from the schools. In addition, the relevant persons in charge of the Public Security Subbureau of Yuhua District of the Changsha Public Security Bureau, the Wangchengpo Police Station of the Public Security Bureau of Yuelu District, and the Safety Promotion Association were invited to participate the training.

Director Zhou Junjun reported on the telecommunications network fraud cases since the beginning of the semester from the three aspects such as the course of case, the modus operandi and the reason. The leaders of the School of Accounting, School of Computer Science & Information Engineering, School of Finance, School of International Business and School of Business Administration gave speeches on the topic of strictly preventing and controlling telecom network fraud.

Changsha Public Security Bureau specially appointed Liu Jie, deputy director of the Political Office of the Public Security Subbureau of Yuhua District, to provide the special training, who was awarded the titles such as the "Outstanding People's Police of Hunan Province", "Most Beautiful Individual for Public Law Dissemination in Hunan Province", "Most Beautiful Civilized Practice Volunteer in Hunan Province", etc. Based on 13 typical cases, Deputy Director Liu Jie explained in detail the three aspects such as "What is telecom fraud", "Main techniques of telecom fraud" and "How to effectively prevent and control telecom fraud", so that the participants can understand the telecom fraud and preventive & control measures more comprehensively and thoroughly.

Finally, Vice President Zeng Fuqiu emphasized that all schools, classes, and all teachers and students must fully understand the dangers of high incidence of telecom fraud and the urgency and arduousness of prevention and control. The teachers, students and their families who have suffered damage due to telecommunications fraud, especially those who have suffered greater losses shall be treated with heart and soul. It is necessary to fulfill the duty, implement the relevant arrangements of the Public Security Department and HUTB, take the responsibility of maintaining the safety and stability of the campus, and work together to create a safe campus that is more satisfactory for teachers, students and parents.
