Conference on Election of Hunan Criminal Rule of Law Research Institute Held in HUTB

On December 5, the conference on the election of Hunan Criminal Rule of Law Research Institute was held in the Yingcai Lecture Hall of HUTB. The theme of this year’s conference is “Juvenile Delinquency and Protection of Rights and Interests”.

The event was attended by Xie Yong, member of the Supervisory and Judicial Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Tang Shiyue, Grade 1 inspector of the Justice Department of Hunan Province, Ding Yu, Vice President of Hunan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences Association Council, Zeng Fuqiu, Vice President of HUTB, and more than 100 experts and scholars in the field of criminal law and practitioners.
Vice President Zeng Fuqiu delivered a welcome speech. He elaborated on HUTB’s development in recent years and the construction of law discipline, talent training and social service. He expressed the hope that through the event, teachers and students of HUTB will broaden their view and conduct innovative research to better support the province’s efforts to build a society with rule of law.
Huang Mingru, President of the research institute, Ma Changsheng, Honorary President of the research institute, Ding Yu, Vice President of Hunan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences Association Council and Xie Yong, member of the Supervisory and Judicial Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, successively delivered address, elaborating on and expressing expectations for such topics as the research institute’s progress, core mission, construction plan and development direction.

In the conference, the list of award-winning papers was announced and their authors were commended. Election of the research institute, including Directors, Managing Directors, Secretary General, Vice Presidents and President, was held. Huang Mingru was appointed as the President of the research institute, 8 people, including Zhang Yonghong, was appointed as the Vice Presidents, and Yang Mengjia was appointed as the Secretary General. Liu Qixiang, Dean of the School of Law & Public Administration, was appointed as the Vice President.
At the conference, participants had an in-depth discussion on topics such as juvenile delinquency and prevention, criminal liability of juvenile offenders and guarantee of the rights of juveniles. (Reported by Peng Xiaxia, Yang Xin and Yin Wenhui)
