2020 Exchange Session on NSFC Key Project “Research on Theory and Application of Enterprise Operation and Service Innovation Management” Held in HUTB

On the morning of December 3, the 2020 exchange session on National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) key project “Research on Theory and Application of Enterprise Operation and Service Innovation Management” chaired by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician was held in Conference Room 206 of the Science and Technology Building. The event was hosted by NSFC and co-hosted by HUTB. The exchange session was attended by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, Yang Liexun, Deputy Director (in charge of work) and researcher of the Management Science Department of NSFC, Tang Lixin, professor of Northeastern University and CAE Academician, Li Yijun, professor of Harbin Institute of Technology, Wang Fan, professor of Sun Yat-sen University, Zeng Dajun, researcher of the Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences and other experts of the Academic Guidance Group, as well as Wu Gang, Director and researcher of Division II of the Management Science Department of NSFC, Sun Yacheng, professor of Tsinghua University (on behalf of Professor Chen Yubo), Zhao Xinyuan, Current Project Director and professor of Division II of the Management Science Department of NSFC, Li Dingjun, Vice President and professor of HUTB and members of the Research Group of the key project. The opening ceremony of the event was presided over by Director Wu Gang.


Deputy Director Yang Liexun delivered an address on behalf of NSFC. He pointed out that NSFC key projects draw great public attention, reduce the number of approvals, and require enormous research efforts. They are aimed at meeting national major demands with world-leading technology. He stressed that researchers participating in key projects should focus on theoretical contribution and innovation, and apply theory in enterprise management practice; they should conduct scientific research with strict work style and study style and the spirit of scientists, and guarantee the research quality of key projects; they should conduct scientific research with rigorous and upright attitude, translate key projects into excellent results, and provide strong theoretical and academic support for our country’s socio-economic development.

Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, delivered an address on behalf of HUTB. She said that HUTB and the Research Group attach great importance to the NSFC key project “Research on Theory and Application of Enterprise Operation and Service Innovation Management”, the first independent key project in its history, and spare no efforts in making it a success. After 1 year of research and exploration, initial achievement was made. Despite such progress, we should continue following the “Four Orientations” initiative proposed by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, adhere to the concept of problem-oriented and demand-driven research, and strive to deliver and apply excellent results in practice. Besides calling on participating officials and experts of the Academic Guidance Group to put forward suggestions regard the subsequent implementation of the key project, she also expressed the hope that members of the Research Group will continue working for better results.
Upon the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the event immediately entered the component of briefing, which was composed of two stages, which were chaired by Academician Tang Lixin and Professor Li Yijun respectively. First of all, Academician Chen Xiaohong, on behalf of the Research Group, elaborated on the research progress of the NSFC key project “Research on Theory and Application of Enterprise Operation and Service Innovation Management” from such perspectives as annual research task, annual research progress, annual achievements and research plan for the next year. She said that after proactive research such as data collection, enterprise research, academic exchange and internal discussion, the Research Group has overfulfilled the annual tasks, proposed a series of new strategies to optimize enterprise innovation and management, and yielded a number of high-standard achievements in the fields of academic paper, intellectual property right, consultation report and suggestion, enterprise application and research award.
Academician Chen Xiaohong, Sun Yangcheng, professor of Tsinghua University, Shen Zuojun, professor of Tsinghua University, Yang Feng, professor of University of Science and Technology of China and Zhou Yanju, professor of Central South University, elaborated on the research progress of 5 sub-projects respectively as responsible person, that is “Smart Operation and Management of Enterprises in the Field of Environmental Service”, “Sharing Economy Platform Service Operation Mode and Risk Management”, “Smart Supply Chain Operation and Service Mode Innovation”, “Research on Theory and Method of Smart Logistics Management” and “Whole-Channel Operation and Service Mode Design for New Retail”.
Director Wu Gang presided over the exchange session on work related to the key project. Participating officials and experts of the Academic Guidance Group spoke highly of the progress the key project has made over the past year, including solid research work, precise selection of research subject, fruitful research, distinct characteristics and prominent innovation results. They also had an in-depth discussion on the priorities of the key project and how to conduct research going forward, and put forward valuable suggestions and recommendations.
At last, Deputy Director Yang Liexun made concluding remarks. He stressed that the Research Group should heed and take stock of the suggestions and recommendations from the experts of the Academic Guidance Group, proactively adapt to new forms of business and new trends with the pioneering spirit of pursuing innovation in line with the times, implement their research work to serve public interests, and solve challenges related to enterprise operation and service in a science-based manner. He spoke highly of the NSFC key project, and expressed the hope that whenever the academic community talks of issues relating to enterprise operation and service innovation and management, it would come into their mind.
Participating officials and experts of the Academic Guidance Group also paid visits to new laboratories built by HUTB to conduct research relating to the key project, including new retail virtual reality technology, ecological environment and big data analysis, intelligent environmental monitoring and big data analysis, IoT and smart logistics.(Written by Zhang Gaoyang, Photo by Chen Luming and Liang Zixuan)
