HUTB Convened Special Conference to Study and Deploy Measures to Further Strengthen Construction of Laboratory and Scientific Research Platform in A New Era

On the morning of December 2, HUTB convened a special conference to study and deploy measures to further strengthen construction of laboratory and scientific research platform in a new era in the Conference Room 206 of the Science & Technology Building. The conference was attended by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, Vice President Peng Jinqing, Vice President Li Dingjun, Vice President Liu Guoquan, and officials from the Academic Affairs Division, the Scientific Research Administration Division, the Finance Division, the Assets Management Division, the Centralized Purchasing Center, the Audit Division, the Modern Education Technology Center, the Logistics Service Division, the Entrepreneurship Education and Practice Teaching Center and units related to construction project. The conference was presided over by Vice President Liu Guoquan.
At the conference, officials from units related to construction project elaborated on the construction plan for projects such as laboratory, training center, training base, innovative talent team, digital resource database, classroom and laboratory equipment update from the perspectives of project overview, contents, purpose and significance of construction, site planning and layout and effect demonstration, feasible experimental project, proposed experimental course, existing problems, construction concept going forward, expert opinions and suggestions, budget and expected profit.
Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, commended the practical, efficient and high-quality working style of relevant units and the progress in construction plan. She pointed out that as a new batch of construction projects bears on the improvement of teaching level in experimental training, teaching and research, talent training, discipline construction, social service and team building, various units should take seriously and proactively advance the construction process of the projects. She stressed that various units should further improve the construction plan, and accelerate preparatory work to complete the construction project with high efficiency and high quality. We should bear in mind the big picture to ensure rational allocation of site and budget between construction projects. We should further optimize the planning layout and budget of construction projects, and minimize profit with limited resources. We should proactively contact and invite experts inside and outside HUTB to raise professional guiding opinions with regard to construction project, heed their opinions, and solve technical problems in the construction process in a science-based manner. We should organize and conduct demonstration of construction projects in which the plan is far from being perfect, and proactively study and draw lessons from partner colleges’ experience in this regard.
After the conference, President Chen led a team to conduct inspection acceptance of the newly completed central finance and laboratory construction project on site, and put forward guiding opinions with regard to the rational use, construction and improvement of the project.(Reported by Zhang Gaoyang)
