On December 1, the Changsha Work Conference on Cross-Border E-Commerce Talent & 1stCross-Border E-Commerce Talent Job Fair was held in HUTB. The event was attended by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, Zhang Hongyi, member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC, Zhu Dongtie, Deputy Mayor of the People’s Government of Hunan, officials from the Secretariat of the People’s Government of Changsha, the Performance Office of Changsha, Changsha Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, Liu Guoquan, Vice President of HUTB, officials from Hunan Agricultural University, Hunan University of Finance and Economics, Changsha University and Changsha Commerce & Tourism College, and senior executives from Yujiahui, SellerMotor and Ouke International.

The conference was convened in the Conference Room206of the Science & Technology Building of HUTB, and it was chaired by Deputy Mayor Zhu Dongtie. At the conference, Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, first delivered an address of welcome on behalf of HUTB. She briefed on HUTB’s mission of building a business and finance college featuring multidisciplinary, coordinated development, the “Three-upgrade Strategy” of development, the development concept of “New Engineering+New Commerce+New Humanity”, national-level progress in innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity, a batch of high-standard scientific research platforms and projects featuring National Basic Science Center and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Program, a series of national-level and provincial-level science & technology progress award and teaching achievement award and interdisciplinary talent training concept. She pointed out that with a competitive edge in the field of e-commerce discipline construction, HUTB has forged a close university-enterprise cooperation relationship with major domestic e-commerce enterprises, including Alibaba Group. It is well timed for Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC and the People’s Government of Hunan to carry out cooperation with HUTB on e-commerce talent training. Supporting e-commerce and digital economy as its pivotal industries and with the support of its software industry, Changsha will create more space for the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry. She said that with the support of the Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC and the People’s Government of Hunan, HUTB will work with other colleges and universities to promote better and faster development of the cross-border e-commerce industry in Changsha.
Gao Wei, Director of Changsha Municipal Commerce Bureau, briefed on the situation of cross-border e-commerce talent training in Changsha. Zhang Baiyun, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC and Director of Changsha Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, released and explained the Training and Evaluation Standard for Cross-Border E-Commerce Talents in Changsha.

Director Zhang Hongyi conferred to HUTB, Hunan Agricultural University and Hunan University of Finance and Economics the plaque reading “China (Changsha) Cross-Border E-Commerce Integrated Pilot Zone Cross-Boarder E-Commerce Talent Incubation Base Pilot Unit”.
Officials from participating colleges and universities exchanged views on such topics as cross-border e-commerce talent training, scientific research platform, university-enterprise cooperation, academic exchange and graduate employment. Senior executives from participating enterprises exchanged views on such topics as cross-border e-commerce enterprise operation, market development, platform development, personnel training and talent demand.
At last, Director Zhang Hongyi pointed out that the Changsha Work Conference on Cross-Border E-Commerce Talent & 1stCross-Border E-Commerce Talent Job Fair is of great significance, as it represents a practical initiative to implement the spirit of Secretary General Xi Jinping’s instruction of “building a hub of reform and opening up in inland regions”, act upon the Provincial Committee’s strategy of “giving full play to the leading role of innovation in opening up”, support the high-quality development of open economy, and build a new hub of cross-border e-commerce talents. He said that since Changsha was identified as a national-level cross-border e-commerce integrated pilot zone in 2018, the city, focusing on promoting industry development and building a new hub of cross-border e-commerce talents, has fulfilled its responsibility, developed with good momentum and make breakthrough in innovation-driven development, which is a hard-won achievement. He stressed that going forward, seizing the new opportunity brought by cross-border e-commerce talent training, we should speed up the construction of a new system of cross-border e-commerce talent training, focus on establishing a new mechanism for cross-border e-commerce talent training, pursue innovation with pioneering spirit and hard work, and jointly open up a new chapter in cross-border e-commerce development by taking advantage of the country’s efforts to build the China (Hunan) free trade zone.
After the conference, participating leaders attended the job fair on site. It was the first time for Changsha to hold a job fair for college graduates majoring in cross-border e-commerce. Many major enterprises attended the event, providing a number of job opportunities. A total of 500 graduates of 2020 class from HUTB, Hunan Agricultural University, Hunan University of Finance and Economics, Changsha University and Changsha Commerce & Tourism College, as well as 46 enterprises in cross-border e-commerce related to import, export and service, attended the event.
It is learned that Changsha has identified 5 “China (Changsha) Cross-Border E-Commerce Integrated Pilot Zone Cross-Border E-Commerce Talent Incubation Base Pilot Units”. The fact that HUTB was identified as the “China (Changsha) Cross-Border E-Commerce Integrated Pilot Zone Cross-Border E-Commerce Talent Incubation Base Pilot Unit” shows that HUTB boasts good foundation and resources in discipline construction, faculty, hardware construction and brand influence. In the construction of “Base Pilot Unit”, HUTB will continue strengthening cross-border e-commerce talent training, and providing more excellent professionals to Changsha’s cross-border e-commerce industry.
