Zhang Dafang, Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC Pays Visit to Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President&CAE Academician

On the morning of November 28, Zhang Dafang, Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of Jiusan Society paid a visit to Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, on behalf of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and the People’s Government of Hunan Province at the inauguration ceremony of the establishment of the academic committee of “Theory and Application of Resources and Environmental Management in the Era of Digital Economy” National Center for Basic Science and symposium.
At such historic moment, Zhang Dafang extended his sincere sympathy and best wishes to Academician Chen Xiaohong. He pointed out that focusing on the country’s major strategic demands, Academician Chen Xiaohong had been doing research in the fields of the construction of resource conservation-oriented society and environment friendly society, efficient and green development and utilization of resources and environmental protection for nearly 30 years, and in recent years, she had proactively carried out fruitful exploration in the new format, new mode, new technology and new field of digital economy such as big data, AI, block chain and smart society, with the distinctive characteristics of “intelligence + ecology”, setting up an exemplary model for the country, including Hunan Province. These advanced practices and the spirit of scientist in this process set up a good example for science and technology professionals, especially youth. He expressed the hope that Academician Chen Xiaohong would use the National Center for Basic Science as a platform to build more hubs of innovation and make greater contributions to high-quality economic and social development of Hunan Province.
Chen Xiaohong expressed sincere gratitude towards the long-standing care and support of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC, the People’s Government of Hunan Province and Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. She said that she would shoulder the national mission and historic responsibility, make full efforts to make the National Center for Basic Science a success, build it into a domestically first-class and internationally leading research platform, talent hub and top-notch think tank in the field of resources and environment, modernize the national government system and capacity in the field of resources and environment, advance the coordinated development of resources, environment and economy under the national security concept, provide a solid theoretical foundation and practical guidance for Hunan Province to realize ecological civilization, prosperity and beautiful environment, and realize global sustainable development under the concept of building a community of shared future for mankind with the Chinese wisdom.
