On the morning of November 18, HUTB and Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd. held an exchange forum at ConferenceRoom 206 inthe Science and Technology Building. Attendees include Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, Peng Jinqingand Li Dingjun, HUTB Vice Presidents, Zhang Ligang, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., Li Zhijun, member of the Party Committee and Chairman of Supervisory Board of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., Xie Guofu, Vice GMof Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., senior executives from Hunan Xiangxin Water Environmental Protection Investment and Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., Changsha Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town Construction Investment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., the Human Resources Center, the Strategic Operation Center and the Comprehensive Management Center of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., officials from the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, the Enrollment and Employment Guidance Division, the Academic Affairs Division, the Scientific Research Administration Division, the School of Tourism Management and the Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation of HUTB, as well as members of Academician Chen Xiaohong’s team.
Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, briefed the participants on the achievements made by HUTB in the fields of upgrading collegeto university, upgrading second batch of undergraduate to first batch of undergraduate, the construction of doctoral programs, enrollment and employment, “new engineering course+new business course”, training of interdisciplinary talents, valuable policy suggestion and the construction of National Center for Basic Science in recent years, as well as the strengths of HUTB and Academician Chen Xiaohong’s team in AI, big data, block chain, Internet and VR. She spoke highly of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd.’s outstanding contributions to the construction of Xiangjiang New Area, and expressed the hope for both sides to deepen strategic cooperation and carry out industry-university-research cooperation for win-win outcomes.
ChairmanZhang Ligang talked about the development history and basic situation of Xiangjiang New Area, the group’s commitment to the concept of government-led, market-oriented and professional development, the development of four sectors, i.e. district development, city operation, financial service and industrial investment, and the implementation of work in the fields of party building, poverty alleviation and talent development. He said that the group will further step up exchange and cooperation with HUTB, and hoped that HUTB and Academician Chen Xiaohong’s team will provide intellectual and talent support for Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd.
The conferees had an in-depth discussion and exchange of views on such areas as the construction of premium think tank, the application and declaration of high-quality scientific project, the construction of high-standard research platform and transformation of outcomes, talent education and training, the construction of training base for students and the employment of excellent graduates. Both sides reached consensus on carrying out more industry-university-research cooperation, in a bid to ensure new development, new breakthrough and new progress.
After the event, the delegation led by Chairman Zhang Ligang visited the Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of New Retail Virtual Reality Technology, the Smart City Laboratory, the IntelligentManufacturing Laboratory, the Ecological Environment and Big Data Analysis Laboratory, the Intelligent Environmental Monitoring and Big Data Analysis Laboratory, the Artificial Intelligence and Robot Innovation Laboratory, the IoT Technology Laboratory, the Academician Achievement Exhibition, the Intelligent Logistics Laboratory and Chufeng Academy, and spoke highly of the achievements made by HUTB in the fields of scientific research, talent training, social service and cultural progress.

(abbreviated as Xiangjiang Group) is a large state-owned investment company covering district development, city operation, financial service and industrial investment. It plays an important role in helping Xiangjiang New Area, 12thnational new area and first national new area in Central China, pursue infrastructure construction, district development, the building of a modern industry system, ecological environment development and governance, and the construction of two-oriented society.
