HUTB Holds On-site Meeting on Construction of Ideological and Political Theory Courses

On the afternoon of November 16, HUTB held a face-to-face office meeting on incorporating the spirit of the important speech made by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Hunan Province and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China into ideological and political theory courses. The meeting was attended by Party Secretary Tang Yayang, members of the leading group of the School of Marxism Studies, key teacher representatives and officials from the Party Committee Publicity Department and the Academic Affairs Division.
At the meeting, Peng Huancai,Deanof the School of Marxism Studies briefed on the work and results of incorporating the spirit of the important speech made by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Hunan Province and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China into ideological and political theory courses, and made 8 arrangements for further promoting the integration of the latest theoretical achievements of the sinicization of Marxism into ideological and political theory courses.
Afterwards, Shen Tan, Chen Lizhou, Liang Manyan, Chen Yu and Chen Liping, as key teachers from various teaching and research sections, shared their experience on how to incorporate the spiritsof the important speech made by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Hunan Province and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China into five courses, and exchanged views on the challenges they are facing in the work. Officials from relevant departments answered their questions, and said that they will proactively provide better service to give full play to the role of ideological and political theory courses in education.
After hearing the speeches, Party Secretary Tang Yayang appreciated the hard work of all the faculties of the School of Marxism Studies, and put forward requirements for the integration work going forward: first, raise the awareness of politics and action. To integrate the latest theoretical achievements of the Communist Party of China into ideological and political courses is not only a task, but also a responsibility. We should identify with the Party ideologically, and do good job of the work from the bottom of heart; second, establish an innovative mechanism to address challenges facing development. We should set up a study mechanism, and teachers of ideological and political courses should achieve mastery through a comprehensive study of the subject; we should make communication on various courses, and developside by side while focusing on respective emphasis; we should establish a joint mechanism to realize the coordinated arrangements of ideological and political courses and practical teaching; third, we should keep upright, stick to innovation, foster confidence of courses, and improve the effectiveness of courses. As a skill and art, providing ideological and political courses requires overcoming obstacles, innovating method and striving to make them popular among students; fourth, summarize lessons and translate them into achievements.
