HUTB Students Achieve Good Results in Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest 2020 of Hunan

Results of the Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest 2020 of Hunan, sponsored by Department of Education of Hunan Province and undertaken by Hunan Institute of Engineering, was announced recently; the student team from School of Computer Science and Information Engineering won two first prizes, one second prize and one third prize.
Affected by COVID-19 this year, the organization form of the Contest was greatly changed. Firstly, the Contest was postponed to October 10-13 from middle August, and team members had to independently complete topic selection, system scheme demonstration, software and hardware design, works commissioning, etc.,within the prescribed 4 days and 3 nights; secondly, in the Contest, the semi-enclosed and concentrated league mode with unified examination paper by multiple provinces was adopted, students attended the intensive contest in campus, and the organization committee dispatched experts randomly to test in campus, in order tostrictly kept the test standards consistent in different provinces; finally, as required by the organization committee, the Contest was carried out under whole-process video monitoring for beingjust, fair and open. HUTB highly valued the preparation and organization for the Contest, and gave generous support in pre-competition preparation, venue arrangement, etc. The contest guidancegroup launched the contestant selection, online training, intensive training during the summer holiday, pre-competition mobilization for majors in Electronic Information Engineering in advance in April this year.
It is known that about 1500 contestants from nearly 500 teams of38 universities in HunanProvince attended the Contest, including National University of Defense Technology, Central South UniversityandHunan University, and the first prize was awarded for the first 12% contestants, the second prize was also for 12% contestants, and the third prize was for 16% contestants. The organization of and participation in the Contest fully demonstratesHUTB students’ good spiritual outlook of independent innovation, and further promotesits application of innovation-oriented, entrepreneurial and applied talents.
